I was thinking of compiling a list of start dates, when did you first start posting here, why did you decide to come here, your first post etc. then instead of a congrats thread for everyone maybe we can give a lil nod to each other each year and say congrats!
i am july 25 2007 and i came in because after reading DH i was very angry and wanted to see if anyone else was angry at it.

i joined 5th november. and my first point was something about the slytherins at the final battle i believe.
i think i joined because i was really bored one day, and i remember how fun it was this one time when i joined a forum about the tv show Lost, so i decided to join another forum. i decided hp because i'd just finnished DH recently and was suffering for harry potter withdrawel

I think anyone who hadn't read the books would have really struggled watching it, I kept having to work out where the storyline was.. like what happened in the book between scenes. And I totally nearly missed Tonks coming in.. if it wasn't for the hair I would've missed her intro.
Still the movie was brilliantly casted.. I loved Luna and Bellatrix.
I agree about the mood changing too much around Sirius' death.. I'd start crying then stop then get reminded of what happened then it was forgotten then mentioned again lol.
I've been trying to work out what things they're going to have to waste time explaining in HBP because they were cut from OotP.
Can anyone think of some?

One of my dissapointments in the movies is the Gryffindor common room. It is supposed to hold seventy students, but it looks like it could only hold about ten or twenty. Or am I missing something? _________________

I started coming on July 23rd, 2007, because my friend found this site online. As a sidenote - she hasn't been on it since the day she joined.

oh my first post i think was "can i be sorted into slytherin"
the next was about my theory of the ending of harry potter. voldie uses ginny as bait for harry. so harry rescues her. then voldie meets him. he is aware that harry is a horcrux, and that harry has destroyed all his horcruxes which makes harry the only surviving horcrux. and so he attempts to make a deal with harry to join forces with him and his life will be spared. when harry disagrees he then threatens to kill ginny. so harry pleads "no dont kill her! take me instead." voldemort is then reminded of the scene at godric's hollow when lily died protecting harry, which ultimately caused his own destruction. so in a fit of rage he kills harry, so harry dies. and then he moves on to kill ginny, but since harry left her a protection similar to what lily left him, the wand backfires and the horcruxless voldemort dies for good. so he dies of his own greed...
my third post must have been my fanfic, and all weasleys save molly, ginny, and ron, die. _________________

hello, my name is katie. i'm sixteen and i am from new hampshire, usa.
i love love love harry potter. everything about it.
i think the 5th book is my favorite, but i change my mind quite frequently.
my favorite characters are probably severus snape, draco malfoy, and of course harry potter. i just like the complexity of those three characters.
i also like hermione a lot. i'm sure i will think off more of my favorite characters later, they just aren't coming to me now when i want to think of them, ha.
i like to read a lot. all kinds of books. anything really. music is great. i have kind of a weird taste in music, but i love it all. can't think of anything else to say.
I found it after searching for a HP forum on google, and decided to check it out.

About the flames...I think thats just how wizard funerals are done. Nobody seemed phased by it. He was lying there in the open right? In the third book there are 13 people at the Christmas dinner. Ron and Harry stand up. Trelawney asks which one stood up first. Neither one can remember, nor do they care. It is interesting that they were the firsts to stand up and maybe it means something that they didn't know which had stood first.
