There is another actor being rumoured to be playing Tom Riddle. Actor Michael Berendt is allegedly playing Tom at the age of 18. Supposedly he is also playing an Inferius.
This will make the third actor who plays Tom Riddle in this film. Other actors are Hero Tiffin and Frank Dillane, who plays Tom at age 11 and 16, respectively.

For right now, this is just a rumour. I'll update this when I know more. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. With pie." ~ Anya <3
I just want to clarify that they're pictures of the actor, not the character. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. With pie." ~ Anya <3
uh...I hope its a rumor cuz they could easily get someone to play 16 AND 18, what they need is him in his twenties really. they should call back christian coulson for that. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer

I completely agree. I also think that Christian could easily pull off 16. _________________

Have you seen any recent pictures of him? Because now that he's 30... I don't know if it would be as believable. I wonder what he looks like now, if age has caught up to him... _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. I mean they should have Christian Coulson play Tom Riddle in his 20's...before he went all wonky looking but not a teen. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer

Yeah, I can see that... maybe he didn't want to do it? I dunno. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. With pie." ~ Anya <3
^ GRRR I can't find any recent videos of him. The most recent that I can find is from 2003. I didn't realize that he was that old, but I still think that he could do it . . . He was brilliant before, and he was 23. Look at how well Shirley Henderson pulled off Moaning Myrtle, and she was going on 40! _________________

I think that Moaning Myrtle required a bit of suspension of disbelief, though. You sort of had to accept that a child-ghost was being played by an adult... because ghosts can't age, so casting a child in the part would be silly, since if the series takes years to film, then they'd have to recast.
I'm not saying it's not possible... James Marsters played a vampire in his early 20's when he was 40. But once you pass a certain age, it's difficult to pass for a character who hasn't finished going through puberty yet. No timpossib le, but really not as believable. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. It's a bigger suspension of belief to allow yourself to think that three completely different people are the same person when there isn't a huge time gap between the ages the character is supposed to be. I would have an easier time pretending that a 30-year-old with whom I am familiar as Voldemort is a teenager. _________________

It's very possible the actor didn't want to return. Or perhaps he wasn't able to for whatever reason.
It's not uncommon to have several actors play the same character at different ages. This actor hasn't been confirmed yet, though. So I'm not trying to analyze it. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. First I would like to point out that you are analyzing it. Otherwise, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Second point of matte -- different actors for different ages. I know that movies often use different actors to portray the same character at different stages of life. That's not a problem. The problem is that if this turns out to be true, then they are using two different actors for two ages that are really close together, and two ages at which a person usually looks exactly the same, anyway. That seems pretty pointless. On top of that, they are having these actors replace an actor who once played that character at around the same age that they will be portraying at -- if this turns out to be true. This is all suspension of belief to the extreme. _________________

Surprising. I thought their was another young one playing Tom's young self. Which I'll be pleeding to see.
Like actors, sometimes they need a break from all the fame. Otherwise, the dude was getting old. But how does that matter? Krum or Robert Pattison had a tiny beard and they were playing. I think this actor looks a little too good for me, the other one was fine. But there's something too good and not evil about him. I want to see his attitude. If it's like the old Riddle, I will like him. But if it's better, I love him. _________________

That. Is. The. Most. Ridiculous. Thing. That. I. Ever. Heard. The other Tom Riddle couldn't handle that?
Most people have the same hands at 18 as they did at 16.
I dunno, maybe he's an accomplished hand model? _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. With pie." ~ Anya <3
