I do not think that Snape wanted to kill Dumbledore but he had to because of the Unbreakable Vow. After when he was running I don't think he wanted to get away because he was telling Harry to use a Non-Verbal Spell so (my opinion) he would have an excuse to Voldemort why he was caught in the end.

The Unbreakable Vow didn't have anything to do with it. All it said was to protect Malfoy and you know Dumbledore wasn't going to kill Malfoy.

Snape killed him because "Lord Voldmort" told Malfoy to do it and he couldn't so "SNAPE DID IT FOR HIM."

Maybe you should read the 7th book! Question Exclamation Question Exclamation

no part of the vow was that he had to do what draco was supposed to do if Draco didn't do it. But I think its clear that he didn't want to because of the argument Hagrid overheard. snape said he didn't want to do "it" anymore and that DD was taking too much for granted. But DD reminded him that he promised.

i dont think he did.. im not sure which came first... dumbledore getting the ring horcrux or spinner's end...dumbles telling snape that he should kill him or the unbreakable vow? if spinner's end came first then snape i guess would rather die than kill dumbles...

if dumbledore told snape to kill him before spinner's end... then the extent of snape's loyalty is unclear.

i actually believe that the ring and the unbreakable vow took place on the same evening...and DD seemed to know about the prophecy without snape explaining it to him, making me beleive dumbledore impersonated snape at spinners end.

I think Snape didn't want to kill Dumbledore but because Snape soo loyal to Dumbledore he killed him because Dumbledore ask him to kill him. Snape was loyal to Dumbledore 'til he died.

I most definitely think Snap did not want to kill Dumbledore

Snape was in love with Lily after Voldemort killed her he totally hated him and Dumbledore was his cause, so i think he would have died for Dumbledore, and he did.

snape did not want to kill dumbledore, but he's not truly loyal to him as much as he is to lily. sort of like he wouldnt want to kill minerva or wish her dead, but he's not truly loyal to her. but he has some loyalty to dumbledore, just not as much as lily...

I didn't think so as I was reading the book, and I still don't, but I know now about it.

Of course not! He knew that Dumbledore was the key toward turning his life around after the bad death eater days.

I voted no, even thought it's a bit late. I didn't think that Snape wanted to kill Dumbledore to begin with, though. It was a bit of a shock when it happened, but after that wore off I thought rationally about the situation. It just didn't fit. I knew that there was a depth to Snape that we hadn't been shown.

I think no. When DD told him about that he was kinda shocked. He didn`t want to do it. DD had to persuade him. And when they were on that tower and Snape came, DD begged to Snape to kill him. He said - please, Severus.
Although, you have to really mean those curses... I don`t know it the Vow would be enough for that.

Snape meant the curse because he knew it would be the only way to save the Wizarding World. Not because he wanted to kill DD out of hate.
