So, this book was totally amazing. Not nearly as good as Oder of the Phoenix but one of the better ones. I really enjoyed the Triwizard competion and it's just too sad that Pretty Boy Diggory is dead. Maybe he'll say "Hi!" to James and Lily for Harry. Overall this was a spectacular book.

What are your thoughts?Smile

i loved this book. this started it all on my opinion. his maturaty started here, the begining of the on going battle between harry and voldy...they just grow up and the fictional childrens book turns into a mature on going sci fi battle between good and evil.

OOTP is my ultimate favorite of the series, but I'd say GOF ties in 2nd place with HBP.

I think its the struggle Harry and the others have to contend with against the Ministry, combined with the charactor we all find repugnant - Dolores Umbridge that make OOTP the best book in the series. Not to mention Harrys first real loss and the infamous prophecy.

I would say i agree with liking oopt better but i can't. Th book was to gloomy.

Reasons are ....

Spoiler:

Everyone thins Harry is lieing 24/7, Sirius dies, The girl he finally gets drags him down with the reminder of her old boyfriends death... it's just a very gloomy book. =/

I like COS best.

Too many loose ends left. That book is going to come back and bite us all in the bottom.

1. Voldemort poured a little of his soul into Ginny. What repercussions will this have?
2. The diary was a Horcrux - now we know that!
3. Wizarding bonds.
4. Ginny wrote to voldemort for a whole year, what doesn't she know about him that could prove critical in the war.

COS is the ultimate detective novel, cos NOTHING was answered, it's unresolved, so I adore it.

I think GoF was my favorite, because it was so action-packed and exciting. And the first real character death, too.

I wouldn't say it's my favorite book but it does have the best final chapters of any book in the series. Mostly the ones at the graveyard. It makes it so much more now with the final book coming out. Just the other day I was rereading it with chills.

i think this book gave us a lot of background info on the culture of voldemort.

- the death eaters
- the dark mark
- the unforgiveable curses
- the potion that was used to resurrect him - flesh blood and bone. i think it is very impt because when harry narrated this, dumbledore had a gleam of triumph. and i have a good explanation for that, which i found in hp lexicon
- the weighing of the wands - about the core of voldie and harry's wands.

I liked this book but it wasn't my favourite of the series. My favourite was Order of the Phoenix.

It went a great length towards expanding the world... the introduction of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang (which I swear should be German) was an important point in the story, I thought. There was too many spare chapters (the SPEW stuff really irritated me, for example) for it to be the best, and I think it was a bit overshadowed by PoA and OotP, but it was still very good.

I have no idea how anybody can say OOTF was better. The only ones that give it competition are HBP and DH
