Excuse me! I really don't know.
Does son-in-law often call his wife's parents names? Or do you guys perfer to call them Mum and Dad?
I perfer he calls their names, cos' I can't bear to see him called other people mum and dad, other than Lily and James.

Son-in-laws and daughter-in-laws usually call their parent-in-laws either mum and dad or by their first names. Sometimes it's a mixture of both out of respect. The parent-in-laws will sometimes offer the option on mom and dad to them. It depends, really. I think I can Harry (and Hermione) doing a mixture of both, mostly calling them by their first names, but once in awhile calling them mum and dad when the ocasion calls for it.

Harry spent over 17 years without parents. I think it's safe to say that he will call them mum and dad.

probably arthur and molly.

Even though alot of people call their mother/father-in-laws mum or dad, it would be just weird if Harry started doing it.

There's nothing to replace! Harry doesn't remember them.

I don't think its a matter of replacement. I just think that they have always been Mr. and Mrs. Weasley to him- never Mum and Dad. Even though they were the closest things he's ever remembered he had to parents (besides Sirius).
He'll probably call them Molly and Arthur as he becomes an adult.

He spent his whole life without Parents. Even though Mrs Weasley said Harry was as good as his son.

But he's different from any other orphans. His mum sacrified her life for him and gave him protection which eventually became one of the weapon to vanquish the dark lord. Her love to Harry was one of the major factors that led Harry to good, not evil, and later enabled Harry to do all those great things and became famous and popular.

Harry loved his mum and Dad too. He read Lily's letter again and again and looked for similiarties of Lily's letters and his. He guarded it as a treasure in the drawstring pocket that Hagrid gave him. It was so touching.

Well, mmmh... I really don't know... If he called Molly as Mum, it would give me a creepy feeling that just like he betrayed his mother's love.

The memory he chose to produce the Patronus was the part he saw his mum and dad in the Erised mirror, remember?

He'll call them Molly and Arthur. Unless J.K makes another book, we won't really know, but I don't think he would be able to call anyone else mum or dad.

I think calling her Mum would be nice, I really dont think it would be betraying Lily, tho I do think the first time it happens Molly will prolly get all emotional and tear up lol, I read a good fanfic where shes tucking him in and he says good night mum. I dunno bout calling Arthur dad, I think that might be wierd, just Arthur would do.

By the time they get married, Harry is a fully grown man, not a little boy that needs mum to tuck him in bed. (That would be a job of Ginny in case he really needs it!!! Wink )

Calling them Mum and Dad is really weird to me.

^ thats exactly what i mean

harry never actually saw mr and mrs weasley as parents and having known them for long now it would be weird to change from calling them that to mum and dad

I think it would be most appropriate if he called them Molly and Arthur.

It's not really betraying his mother's love. Molly would be the closest thing to a mother that he had.. He lost Lily when he was only 15 months old he would not remember her at all. Yes he would love her.. Of course he would. But calling Molly mum would probably be a normal reaction in the situation that he was in.

Think about it.. He thinks of Ron as a bother.. Why not call her mum.

But I think he would probably call them Molly and Arthur. That's what I think his character would do.

And.. No Harry does not need to be tucked in like a little boy.. But he has always longed for family..

I would think it's more natural to say Molly and Arthur, but mom and dad could work too. If it's so normal in real life, to call ones parents-in-law, mom and dad, why would it be so weird if Harry did it? One doesn't betray their real mom, by calling someone else mom too.. at least I don't think so Rolling Eyes
