There has to be something about those goblets Mundungus stole. Im not saying there horcrux of eather voldmort or sirius, but i think they will be important in the seventh book, or why would J.K.R have brought them up twice.

Anybody have any idea has to why they are important.

well im actually not too sure. i feel that the only reason jk rowling put mundugus and his 10 finger discount is to show how irresponsible he is...perhaps it will be another snape ordeal....showing at the end that he CAN be trusted when he does something like actually doing what hes told for once...you know? Surprised

I was also thinking that maybe he was put their to be shown as a theif for voldmort who may have discovered a "mysterious locket" was located at the black house.

well he was having his little transaction with the barman of the hogshead...who we know is Aberforth Dumbledore. and as he walked away he pulled his collar up over his neck, I think he was sold the locket. as for the goblets...they are red herrings.

I'm sorry this could be stupidity on my part. How do we know that the barman is Aberforth Dumbledore?

No its not stupidity, its somewhat obscure. It was in some interview with JK...let me see if I can find it.

Quote:
Why is the barman of the Hog’s Head vaguely familiar to Harry? Is he Dumbledore’s brother?

Ooh—you are getting good. Why do you think that it is Aberforth? [Audience member: Various clues. He smells of goats and he looks a bit like Dumbledore]. I was quite proud of that clue. That is all that I am going to say. [Laughter]. Well yes, obviously. I like the goat clue—I sniggered to myself about that one.

when they went into the Hogshead in OotP...Harry says he looks oddly familiar or something similar to that, same time it is said the bar smells like goats. Its also great that they put a goat in the hogshead in the movie. I laughed out loud.

Hm... I don't think Voldemort would hire whatshisname, because he doesn't even know anyone has stolen his locket horocrux.

I'd be more willing to believe Regulus than Sirius. actually I wouldn't believe the sirius part at all. but the regulus part is interesting.

I mean does the book ever say how he actuly died and did anybody actuly see regulus death. Regulus would make more sence, seeing how the not in the fake locket was signed R.A.B

i think, assuming that RAB is Regulus and that the locket was at 12Grim
that he was put in there to have stolen the locket, a simple plot twist and adventure for book seven. He has no idea about it, but he simply stole the locket with all his other possessions.

I agree. i think they will figure it out to discover it is missing. Hence major complications for the hunt

Sirius said that Regulus was dead. Also, the note said something like "By the time you find this I'll be dead". I personally think that it was Regulus before he was murdered. I think JKR is just showing that Mundungus is a thief.

If regulus was still alive than why and how did harry inherit the black family estate. When harry tells krecher to spy on malfoy, he does what he is told. The black family line is over.

That is a good point but is Regulus has been playing dead for several years, he most likely came up with ways that made him actuly apear dead. and krecher could be under Regulus order to be under harryes order.

No, he's dead. Dumbledore said that Kreacher would only obey Harry if he were the true heir. You can't get around that.

THat is a bit of a streach dont you think. this is the wizarding world and all of this including the death of sirius would have to be known. possible with a time turner but doubtful. Dumbledore seemed satisfied that when harry told krecher what to do it was settled
