Yeah I wondered about that one....I wonder if it is a mistake. I mean Percy was a Gryffindor prefect and thus had authority within Gryffindor...so I wondered if prefects could dock points off their own house...or it could have been an empty threat...
Most likely explanation...JKR probably just forgot. _________________

I always think it's funny when a spell is introduced in a book that would have been really useful in a previous book...but no one not even the trained wizards used it before _________________

I read the bit about Ron saying that about Voldemort & Myrtle, but I hadn't noticed the Snape thing. Good job to whoever caught that one _________________
Yep, Ron is right when he's joking and wrong when he's serious.
Edit:
Spoiler:
I'm listening to the audiobook for DH. They are discussing how to destroy horcruxes early on and Ron says "Good thing we have such a large supply of Basilisks fangs". Once again, joking around and showing his excellent divination skills I love that scene, where they come running in with probably 20-25 basilisk fangs. What were they thinking? Why did they think they needed that many? HAHA Just strikes me as very funny.
lol you guys are insane for looking for mistakes in a book! i could NEVER catch an error unless someone points it out for me, like what your doing now.
