I don't mean the worst book you've ever read, just a book that doesn't really live up to it's popularity. Now, don't Avada Kedvera me here, but for me, it's the Inheritance trilogy. I couldn't even finish the first book. It was good, but not that good. Another one, Hatchet by Gary Paulson. It was not good at all. We had to read it in school in 6th grade. There was so little charachter reaction. For me, you can't have a good book without well developed characters. What do you guys think?

Basically any Anne Rice book. I read a few of them, and I never got what the big deal was with her books. I'm sure that I'll think of more later. I tend to shy away from really popular books, though.

Now, I want to be careful here with this next one. I love, lovel, love the Twilight series for various reasons, but I really think that it is a bit over-rated. I mean, the fact that people are comparing it to HP is just ridiculously laughable! It's great series, but it's just not that great!

I definitely see where you're comin g from. It's just not as well written... and not very well written, in general... The story itself is good, but no way on par with other great writers.

For my choice, I have to with Of Mice and Men. I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else seems to.

Also, Romeo and Juliet.

Ooooh Girl, Interrupted was another book I didnt' think was as good as it was hyped up to be. And it didn't really seem hyped up until the movie came out, which i saw and thought the ending was so dumb. I was hoping the book would clarify it, but it really didn't. Not really.

I know, the Twilight series is one of my favorite series, but they shouldn't compare it to HP. Twilight is more of a romance, while HP is more action Adventure type. Stephenie Meyer is an awesome writer, but the Harry Potter series is so more complex than Twilight.

erm, Anne Rice is brilliant.

Stephen King is overrated. He is alright, but there are far better thriller/horror writers

I was gonna say Twilight, only without the love love love part. Like would suffice. I don't feel I wasted my time reading it but...just not all that memorable to me...besides for the sparklyness. but that was it. I read it two years ago, only one person I knew on the internet had read it and suddenly it goes BOOM and I'm like ummm wtf.

Twilight. I had my eyes opened to the sheer amount it was over-rated.

I don't know if I still like it or not.

you may not be being serious, but i agree.

HP7 was a let down.

the HP series started off as such a kiddy/teen book and ended up with death/murder/torturous scenes in the last book.

maaaaajor let down
