This is a fanfic I started a while ago, it's on one other website, same title, username haydensnape(that's me). This is the Prologue, hope you enjoy!

"So.... what do you say, Harry?" Headmistress McGonagall finished nervously. Though Harry had been staying at Hogwarts all summer, he had a mysterious habit of going temporarily deaf when the question of his staying at Hogwarts came up. But Minerva would not be denied. She finally got his attention by reminding him he couldn't become an Auror without his NEWTs.
Harry honestly didn't know. He really wanted to become an Auror, but now that Voldemort was defeated, he was sure to attract more attention than ever. Bad rumors he could deal with, but he couldn't take all of the praises and gift bags full of himself in chocolate form(he timidly suggested that the girl see Madam Pomfrey) when, in their eyes, all he really did was cast a 2nd year spell.
Of course, Hermione and Ron knew better. And Harry had told Kingsley, The Weasleys(Mrs.Weasley was unbareable) Minerva everything after the final battle, but he didn't want anyone else to know. Who knew how many aspiring dark lords were out there?
"Well, Professor, I've thought about this a lot. I've decided that the Minestry is not going to let me be an Auror just because I'm Harry Potter. So, I'm coming back. It might be more than I can handle, but I have to try. And besides, I don't want to miss my last year in the only place I've felt at home."
Minerva smiled, which used to be a rarity, but now appeared quite often. Mission accomplished. "And should I assume Ron and Hermione will be coming back as well?"
Harry mirrored her face. "Hermione will be thrilled, Ron..... not so much. But I'm sure I'll be able to convince him. He's my best mate, he wouldn't know what to do without me." he said cockily.
"Okay, then. Here is your list of the supplise you'll need. You can share with Ron and Hermione, no sense in wasting parchment. I also included your basic list of wizarding supplise you bought in first year, considering you left the majority of it at your aunt's house, which was burned down by those friendly Death Eaters" she finished with a smirk.
Harry looked like a fish out of water. This was for two reasons, one was because Professor McGonagall actually used sarcasm, and also because he never told her he left that stuff at his aunts house.
Once she got past the shock, she must of noticed his confusion.
"Albus and Severus weren't the only ones who could do Legilemency" she said.
Even though her tone was light, Harry was overcome by a feeling of dread. And guilt. Looking back, Harry felt that everything the potions professor said was true. He was a trouble maker, Harry thought the trouble was justified, but that didn't make any difference. The professor had been protecting him all through school, and Harry had just been making it more difficult for him.
Minerva could tell Harry was in one of his moods, so she told him she had paperwork to attend to and that he should be on his way. Harry nodded and left without even saying goodbye.

"Oh, Harry, that's wonderful!" Hermione cried gleefully. She was literally jumping up and down with anticipation. Hermione had really wanted to go back to Hogwarts, but she wasn't going to go back without Harry. Now she was content.
Ron was another story. He was watching Hermione with a kind of amusement, but his smirk didn't quite meet his eyes. Harry walked over and sat next to him.
"Hey, mate, so how do you feel about going back?" Harry asked. He was apprehensive.Ron had never showed any sign of wanting to come back to Hogwarts. But he still wasn't prepared for his best friend's reaction.
Ron took a deep breath. "Harry, don't take this personally, but I don't want to go back." _________________ Awesome Sig By Yas!
