I just got done rereading PoA and on page 430, US version:

This implies that the students received their OWL and NEWT scores back PRIOR to even leaving hogwarts, merely a few days after they took the tests.
But when Harry and Ron get their results back, I remember they were at The Burrow well into the Summer months when they finally received their scores.

Overall, 4/5 to reread. Some of the big plot points I forgot, so it felt good to reread. I havent read the third in years.
I noticed that, too. I just assumed that it meant that they were confident that they managed those owls or that Jo hadn't planned the summer when Harry, Ron and Hermione would receive their owls yet.
Percy's came in during the summer, though.

I'm assuming that is just meant that Fred and George knew which ones they passed. Don't you usually know when you bombed and exam? _________________

I notioced that, too...I wondered if, like Zen said, they just assumed what tests Fred and George passed. Or if maybe the test scores were being postponed because of Voldemort's return or something random like that, lol. _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre

It doesn't make sense that they were post-poned for H/H/R but not F/G when Percy's came during the summer in CoS. I definately think that they just knew. _________________
