I think they will try to keep it pg13. The Harry Potter franchise has been known as a "family" thing and it's doing really well in that category. I don't think they'll want to jeopardize that reputation.

Well they could jeopardise the films integrity by trying to stick to that. The US needs a better ratings system, it just goes PG to R, Oz has M(recommended for 15+) and MA(must be 15+) inbetween

The US rating system doesn't go from pg straight to R. It goes G, PG, PG13, then R.... then NC17, but ya definitely don't want that as the rating. That rating means that no one is allowed under the age of 17, not even with parental guidance, is allowed. Once it get's an R rating in the US, then no children will be allowed to go. I wouldn't even take children to see an R rated movie.

^ I meant PG13. There should be something between 13 and 17.. It's like they expect kids to be innocent when they're 16 and all of a sudden when they hit 17 they have this dramatic change, it just isn't realistic.

Yeah, I can't think of anything that would make the movie R rated. Not even the more deadly DH.

There is alot of death, but it takes more than that to get an R in the US. There would probably have to be either alot of language and/or nudity to get an R rating. And if they did that it wouldn't be sticking to the story.

and they wouldnt make a big enough profit to make the next one!

I doubt they would make it R. It would eliminate way too much of their potential audience to do that. I also think it would be pretty easy to tone down the violence when they always end up cutting two thirds of the story too.

I would, but I would watch it first. I think that kids are too sheltered.

People were killed in the last two movies. Even though it wasn't bloody, it was still a rather violent for kids. The sixth book really wasn't more violent. Neither was the seventh, come to thin of it. Deaths were mentioned more than they were happening ifrom Harry's PoV

i agree. there's nothing wrong with seeing people kiss and make out, and knowing how kids are made. what i think should be given all those ratings are those bloody, gory, disturbing psycho films. funny how they are only pg13 and a little nude scene merits an r-18

They arn't going to make a movie rated R that's based off a childrens book! There is not way they're going to do it, nor would JKR allow it. Less people would watch it, WB would never do it.
