PostPosted: December 6, 2007 10:14 am    Post subject: Rupert Grint arrested for DUI *UPDATE* Reply with quote

This is a month old, but I'll post it anyway since no one seems to know about it.

Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint was arrested for driving a friend's Vespa drunk after leaving a Miami nightclub early this morning. The actor claimed he wasn’t drinking but then failed to pass a field sobriety test. Fred Montana, a photographer for the Palm Beach Post, was hoping to catch pictures of Jennifer Lopez after her concert when he bumped into Grint entering the club. Rupert Grint is an English actor best known for playing Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films

Quote:
They came back out two hours later and crossed Washington Avenue to go to his scooter," Montana said. "They both got on it, and he did a U-turn to go north. He was pulled over within a block.

"The cop says to him: 'You swerved right in front of me.' And Rupert answered: 'No, no, dude, I'm all right.'"
Actually, according to the arrest report, Grint also let out a four-letter bomb when he was stopped. Cops say the actor had a flushed face and bloodshot and watery eyes and that his speech was slurred.

UPDATE

Quote:
A faulty Breathalyzer caused Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint to be arrested for DUI last month. The actor was driving a friend's Vespa erratically after leaving a Miami nightclub when police pulled him over. Rupert failed the Breathalyzer test but claimed he only had a few drinks. Turns out he was telling the truth, according to the Miami Herald:

Grint was given two tests that night. On the first one, he supposedly blew a blood-alcohol reading of .081, just above the legal limit. But the control test done on the machine showed that it malfunctioned on that test.
A second test, given a few minutes later, showed Grint had a blood alcohol level of .074.

Rupert Grint has his license back and his lawyer Michael Grieco is waiting for the charges to be dropped. He also feels Rupert was profiled:

“A lot of times, probably most of the time, it's good to be Rupert Grint . This was not one of those times.”

I'm disappointed in him. he should have been driving his ice cream truck, that'd be funnier.

wow...that's pretty crazy, I didn't even hear about it. I'm kind of disappointed in him if it's true.

He should get into trouble for sure, but firing him may be a bit extreme.

...

Lies! All lies! Smile

But yeah, it would have been funnier if he was driving his ice cream truck instead of a Vespa.

haha agreed.

Drinking and driving is a dumb thing to do. You'd think with all the money he must have he could have gotten a ride around Miami. Is he even old enough to drive in England?

Good job, Rorschach. Smile

If it was this easy to spread around a rumour, then maybe now I should start telling you that my real name is Emma Watson.

Now try googling...

"Miami nightclub" "dui" and "vespa"

Go on people, I dare you. Rolling Eyes

Spoiler:

Rupert Grint, Mickey Rourke, seriously, I am going to start telling all of you that I really am Emma Watson and I play Hermione in the Harry Potter films. Hey, you'd all believe me, wouldn't you. BTW, the moon is made of green cheese.

Yeah I knew this, I don't know why I forgot to post it, but yeah when I saw his mug shot (SP?) I was like "WOW is that Ron Weasley?" LOL, and he was right here in Miami, I was like "Man and I was going to go to Miami that weekend!!!" I would have partied with him LOL. But that's sooo dangerous one of my close friends in California just died from drunk driving its so sureal when it happens to someone you know, I hope Rupert learns from this.

Also, the supposed article said that he was in Miami. You can drive at 16 in America.
