Because, because Harry is related to the Peverell brother who asked for the Cloak of Invisibility, which he handed down every generation, then from James to Harry.
Then the Peverell brother who asked for the Resurrection Stones, is the ancestor of the Gaunts, which is part of Voldemort's family.
There is no family connected to the brother who asked for the Elder Wand, because he was killed, so he's not related to anyone. |

yes, harry potter is related to lord voldemort through their common ancestors, the peverell brothers.

Every "clean blood" family are related to each other.Harry's father was pure blooded and voldemort's mother was pure blooded.That's why they have some sort of VERY distant relatives.
