Sorry if their is already a thread like this. But I just realised that Lucius attacked Harry in the movie, but why did Lucius do it when he was right near Dumbledore's office and how did Dumbledore not hear that horrible crash? Maybe he knew Dobby was going to save the day or maybe he thought that Harry could take him. What do you think?

In the book, Harry runs down a dark corridor to catch up to Lucius.

They were not right in front of DD's office. They were down the hall. And there was a stone wall, a huge locked door and a moving stairwell in between the loud band and DD.

But Dumbledore would've still heard that bang!. It was loud and maybe DD was for his liking, not being protective.

Lucius actually says AVADA but then dobby knocks him back and saves the day
