If you had a chance to go to diagon alley, what store would you go to first? what store will you spend half your time in?

Id go first to flourish and blotts. id like to spend a lot of time there also buying books that will help me know more about the wizarding world and penetrate many of its secrets. but i guess the best place would be borgin and burkes. id probably spend a fortune there. id definitely go to ollivanders, but no point hanging out there. and since im not a fan of witch fashion (robes with stars, moons, snitches...) , im probably not staying long at madam malkin's. i dont think Quidditch Quality Supplies would interest me.

Definitely Flourish & Blotts for the same reason as you. I would love to be able to read up on the wizarding world... I'd probably spend most of my time here getting lost among the shelves.

My first stop would be in to Ollivander's because like Harry, that is what I'd be looking most forward to. But yeah, I agree, I wouldn't spend much time in there.

Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions because, well, I like to shop more than I like to admit.

Quality Quidditch Supplies because I would love love love a broom.

Scribbulus Everchanging Inks because if I'm going to have to write with a quill on parchment, I'm going to have fun with it and spend plenty of time picking out my favorite stationary suppiles.

Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes because the products might be nice, but the founders are what I'm really looking for Wink

honestly, about the quills, why do they bother using old fashioned dip-it-into-the-ink-before-you-can-write methods? the muggle way of using a pen is faster than the wizard way of using a quill. self writing quills like that of rita skeeter's are probably not very common, as i see most wizards still use the traditional quills.

Probably Flourish and Blotts, seeing that I love to read. And the Weasley's shop, just for laughs.

yup of course. i can only hope that by the time i get out of diagon alley, ill still have enough galleons to pay for my tuition fee at hogwarts.

btw, how do you think does harry pay for his schooling? i dont think its a question of money, since he has that. but i mean, how? do the goblins automatically withdraw from his account that which ought to go to hogwarts? exactly how do the goblins do that, when harry has his gringotts key with him? at least that is what i think since griphook asked them for harry's key.

Maybe Hogwarts makes automatic withdrawals from Harry's vault and other familys' vaults, too.

You wouldn't need a key to make an automatic withdrawal.

so what's the point of having a key if you can withdraw without it?

Becuase Harry can withdraw from it with the key to pay for books, supplies, chocolate frogs, those sort of things.

It's like having a bank account number, but you can set it up so that the credit card company can automatically withdraw from it every month to make a payment onto your card's account. But you can still dip into your account every so often to withdraw money for clothes and coffee or whatever.

i guess so...

if you were to put up a store in diagon alley (or knockturn alley, whichever), what would it be?

well as for me, no point in putting up a dark arts shop or a bookstore since we already have borgin and burkes and flourish and blotts for that. so i guess id put up a toy shop for kids, selling toy potions sets, toy wands that emit pixie dust, fairy dolls, a miniature version of the hogwarts express, etc.

I would spend half my time in the Quidditch store because I think Quidditch is one of the most fascinating things in Harry Potter. It would be so fun to be able to fly around on broomsticks.

i guess so. but i wouldnt need a firebolt. any old reliable broomstick will do. its my attitude towards cars. i couldnt care less if i rode a ferrari or some cheap car. just as long as i arrive to my destination in one piece.
