Lily Potter walked along the cobbly streets of Diagon Alley with her mother Ginny."Are we there yet,Mum?" She said excitedly peering up at her mum's kind face.
"Yes dear,It's over there." Ginny pointed to a shop with the Words "Ollivanders" Written in gold peeling letters.
"Oh,wow!" Lily exclaimed letting go of Ginny's hand and running towards the shop. "Calm down,Lily," Her mum laughed. Ginny pushed the door open and they both entered the dusty shop.
Ginny went over to the counter and rung a small silver bell. "Yes?" came an old voice from behind some shelves. Ollivander hasn't changed much,Since I was here.Ginny thought to herself. "Oh,Mr,Ollivander,My daughter Lily is going to Hogwarts in a week and she needs a wand."
Lily looked up at Ollivander nervously. "Ah,Yes.."Ollivander said coming to the counter.
"It seems like only yesterday,when you came in for your first wand,Ginevra."He told her, "Eight and three quarter inches,Maple,Dragon Heartstring..Quite flexible too. Your husband Harry though,His wand was very special,It-" That's enough!" Ginny interupted him quickly. Se didn't want Lily to know any thing about her father's connection with Voldemort.
"Ah,I see.. Well,Lily,Which is your wand arm?" Lily held out her right arm as a silver tape-measuer,flitted aound her. "Lets try this one,"Ollivander said taking a long narrow box down from a shelf.
"Twelve inches,Red-wood,Dragon Heartstring." Lily took the wand and waved it but nothing happened. "Hmm....How about ebony,unicorn hair,13 inches?" Lily did the same thing with the wand,but again nothing happened.
"Ah! I think I have it,10 inches,Willow,swishy,Dragon Heartstring."Lily took the wand and suddenly felt a great warmth coming from the wand.
Gold and purple sparks erupted from the tip and her mother smiled proudly. "Well done!" Ollivander exclaimed happily. Taking the wand and wrapping it up,Ginny paid the man and they both went out after thanking him.
"Wow mum,My own wand!" Lily said happily. "Yes,Lily and it resembles your Grandmother's too,She had a swishy Willow wand like you do now."
"Really? I can't wait to show every one!" Lily said flicking away a long lock of red hair. "I'm sure they'll all be delighted,"Ginny said to her daughter as they walked happily down the streets of Diagon Alley. _________________
