umm. is it me or was he out of line during the movie when harrys name came out the goblet. i dont remeber him ever being angry in the book. has a matter of fact ...thats not even his personality! he was calm and i am sure he read harrys mind and knew the truth.

well it may not have in the book but i would be slightly upset if it would've happened. it makes sense.

remember harry felt like harry was being x-rayed. then hes says guilty uptil proven innocent. dumbledore knew very well harry didnt do it. if he was upset about anything it was the fact harry was in danger because someone threw is name into the goblet.

no he wasn't emotionless at all. he was concerned. he was also seeing what everyone else thought about it. DD would never do that.

I think he was scared that someone was powerful enough to "hoodwink", as moody says, the GOF. and Harry was the only reasonable subject.

i can see dumbledore being scared for harrys life. but he just like...almost attacked him in the move.

I must say I think he was to aggressive in the movie. It was upsetting to me.. That Dumbledore would assualt a student like that.
But I still like the movie.

I know that has been bugging me and well I don't think Gambon can be able to pull it off in HBP since Dumbledore is so calm when Snape kills him.

calm but very scared. we never seen him so scared in any other book before . when he faced snape nothing but fear was though him because he knew all his trust in nape was for nothing.

gambon is a good actor, but just not right for dd. he can't pull off that despairing fear without dragging in that madman angry feel. so when i watch hpb, i'm sure i won't shed a tear when dd dies cuz gambon makes me feel nothing.

| Yeah I just watched this movie again a couple days ago and I saw that and it was kind of weird because Dumbledore is not that mean to Harry, but it may be just like what everyone said about him being worried and sometimes worry leads to anger and he just went off. They did change a lot of things in the movies, but then again they kind of had to. I do like this new dumbledore a lot. (I absolutley LOVE his voice) but I really hope in the next one he can be a little less agressive and be more sweet and nice to Harry, since they get a really close relationship in it. |

I thought it was very out of character for Dumbledore. In the books he's always so calm and conversational about practically everything. That's why I liked Richard Harris much better...he was sort of whimsical and such like in the books. Michael Gambon is way too angry...

You shouldn't just blame the actor, the director tells him what emotion he's supposed to bring to the scene and may have even been written in.

I know...but from the way he portrays the character, it seems like the only insight into Dumbledore he has is the script and the director's cues...like he's never read the books...which I would think would be important if you wanted to play a character from a book.
