I thought for sure she was gonna be the one to break at the start of the book and I thought she was gonna apologize to harry and there would be a tearful goodbye and they would hug and she would explain to harry what snape did... but I guessdudley was the one to break ... no hug but close enough, and snape was the one to tell harry the real reason for petunias behaviour

I think in the last book, they have a mutual understanding towards each other.. And I think deep down Harry knows his aunt loves him, whether she expresses it or not..
Or at least thats what I think.

| Yeah I thought that was interesting too. You can almost feel sorry for her at some points, especially when they went back and talked about when Lily first found out. I'm re-reading the fifth book right now and I just passed the part where she admits to knowing what dementors are and is actually afraid of voldemorts return. I liked how they finally showed more background for her hatred of the magical world. I sometimes wonder if maybe she really was sad when Lily was killed but just too bitter to admit it. |

| I actually was looking forward to DH partly because I thought Aunt Petunia would show somekind of interest in the wizarding world. I was half-expecting for her to do something crazy, like help Harry hahah |

I think that she is very resentful...which is why she hates everything pertaining to the magical world. It was something that she desperately wanted to belong to but couldn't. Not to mention that her own little sister had magical abilities that she didn't...which gave her more attention from their parents...because she was special...and Petunia couldn't compete with that.
