God mode isn't going on, I am allowed to erect a protego in addition to my two other spells.

As for being slashed 3 times, I'm not necessarily dead, so what are you griping about? I could heal those in a heart beat in my next turn...

Finite clears the effects of lasting spells. An example is when Neville is hit with the 'tarentellegra' in the Department of Mysteries, and Lupin uses 'finite' to make the dancing stop. It can be used for this, or to release the full body bind, or for other similar purposes, but it cannot be used to block oncoming spells. Not once in the books did someone use 'finite' against an oncoming spell such as 'crucio' or 'expelliarmus'

As for being able to heal the sectumsempra... remember when Malfoy was hit with it in book 6? Snape (who's a master of healing the Dark Arts) could not just instantaneously heal Malfoy. He muttered a bunch of confusing incantations to stall the bleeding, but Malfoy was still horribly injured. Getting hit with 3 sectumsempra slashes is going to lose you the duel. Period.

Alright, I will accept one of those points, but explain this...

Finite (Incantatem) (Counter-Spell)

Pronunciation: fi-NEE-tay (in-can-TAH-tem) (IPA: /fɪ.'ni.teɪ (ɪn.kn̩.'tæ.dm)̩/)
Description: Negates spells or the effects of spells.

"spells or the ffects of spells"

As for AK, it is unblockable supposedly, that;s why.

^^
I can explain it perfectly: the writer made a false assumption, or worded it improperly. We use the books as a source of spells, not Hp-Lexicon or wherever you got that from (Not that those websites aren't useful). In the books, 'finite' only stops the lasting effects of spells.

If you can find an example of anyone in the series using a 'finite' spell to block an oncoming attack, then I will change my mind on this opinion (not that my mind matters, as I'm not a mod, I'm just throwing in my 2 cents... I did write the dueling rules afterall) but from reading the books, it was apparent (at least to me) that finite was not a blocking spell.

Alright, well this duel was a big botch up then unless I find an example.

Though I don't approve much of yelling "IDIOT" at new duelists. That doesn't gain high marks in my book, it would be nice if I could have dueled someone with a bit more maturity for my first duel...

Yes, I challenged you. Also, as a more experienced player, I would think you would be more mature. Yelling and name calling when you are more experienced is rather sad. You should be acting the part of the mentor, not a jerk. I may have challenged you, but if I was in your place, I would have at least had a level of dignity when explaining how things worked. Sorry, but FM has won my respect, you have not.

I think I should add the rule: if you verbally abuse your opponents, then you forfeit the duel.

I reported your post. I've had enough of you being obnoxious, self-centered and controlling. You didn't have to yell at a first-time duelist to make him recognize that his spell was mis-interpreted; I proved that point without being immature. I'm going to PM one of the admins.
