As a huge Snape fan, I'm surprising myself a lot by saying this, but I really think james is the better choice. Snape and Lily were always friends, although he liked her a lot. It was his mistakes that caused Lily to not like him.
James became a better person a few years into Hogwarts, and it was obvious that he always liked Lily. They were so happy together.

The only reason he was mean was because he got rejected by Lily and then she died. I mean wouldn't that make you mean too?

But he would be Harry Snape, not Potter. Well, technically James could have Harry with another girl, so it could still be Harry Potter..

Either way, the right people lived together, loved together, and died together.

james and lily... they were so happy together. james adored her. snape loved her from the start but so did james.

I didn’t know what snapes problem was he was in a perfect position it start something with lily and he started hanging out with wannabe death eaters. What s dope. He should have gone for the girl when he had his chance

the only thing i would pick snape for woudl be an execution. he was a dark lord who was a big school yard bully to harry. james and lily forever! snape wasnt a hero he only broke even in book seven.
