Regulus is the only one who is fitting and HpLexicon is certain about him being R.A.B.
It could be him but from what Sirius has told about him, it doesn't fit. But Sirius could also be wrong about Regulus but if Regulus was a nice person, why didn't he take help of his brother who openly showed hatred to the Dark side. I'm confused!
i read a theory someware that regulas black is still alive, if you remember siuris said that he was dead, rowling has never actualy confirmed that fact. so he could still be alive out there looking for some horcruxes _________________ i have a cake in my pants
JKR comfirmed this a while ago... mugglenet had it up. it is Regulus Arcturus Black. (arcturus is a bright star that can be found by drawing a line from polaris {the north star} to spica, then arcing to arcturus) Think of the locket in the blacks home when the weasleys and harry were cleaning the drawing room. they found a heavy locket that couldn't open.
I don't think that Regulus is still alive, i mean don't you think we would have found out about it by now - we found out about Peter, we even found out about Bertha and even Crouch Jr [in fact we even found out Lord V's uncle was dead][/spoiler]. i think that if JKR has not told us that Regulus is alive by now that is totaly evil.
From what i read Regulus wasn't that brave, but if he did manage to find and destroy a hocrux belonging to Lord V then he must have been clever, wouldn't it then be careless if he left said object in his house where dear cousin Bella could have found it and posibly snitched?

Hey, i have just had an Idea, stupid but an idea non the less, what if
[/spoiler][Slughorn is RAB, i mean it's a stupid idea i know but what if he felt some remorse at telling Tom about the Hocruxes that he went in search for one, I mean he is a potion master and all that, he could have descovered how to evade some of the enchantments, of course i realise that this theory has a lot os flaws - like Slughorn not wanting to cross LV, His name is very far from the anitials in the locket, He seems vain, He is a coward, and there is also the posibility that he does not care, not to mention he likes to brag ( meaning he could have let it slip if he did something with the Hocruxe) - but it is a posibility everyone is a suspect - the grownups anyway - until we know who it is. Okay, well I was reading the OotP again this week and Harry did find a heavy locket he couldn't open when they were cleaning out a cupboard in the room where the family tree is. Maybe he stored it there before he killed. It said in the HBP when Hermione was looking through the Daily Prophet there was an article about Igus Karakoff (spelling>) being found dead and then Hermione said, "I'm surprised he lasted tha long, Regulus only had 2 days. "
So maybe he got the Horcruxes and fled to Grimmauld place, hid the Horcruxe and then got killed. ???
I think it was regulus because lv must have had a good reason to kill him so quick. Karakoff lasted a long time compared to regulus and i think lv is able to tell where deatheaters are though the dark mark. Mabe the locket that was found drawing room was lv Horcruxes and lv killed him so quick because he did not want regulus to have time to destroy it.
I seriously doubt if the locket in the drawing room was a Horcrux.
Even if R.A.B isn't Regulus(it probably is) it has to be a former Death Eater. In the note, R.A.B refers to Voldie as "the Dark Lord", a title only Death Eaters use. _________________ Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus
It's got to be regulus. He's the only character that fits what everything says on the note. Evrything points to him and makes sense so it's got to be him...don't see no reason why it ought to be anyone else but we'll have to wait and see.
when karkaroff is found dead up north, lupin said it was surprising he lasted so long, that sirius's brother, regalus, only lasted a few weeks after betraying the death eaters.
could regalus have learned about the locket while being a death eater then in the few weeks after he escaped found and destroyed it.

Voldemort created the Hoxruses quite early. Even before Voldemort died. The whole Black family could of been framed so that why the brothers went to Azkaban. Regulas could of easily destroyed the Horcrux before he died. But I don't think he is dead ... And whats to say he didn't destroy another one??? ( Its not really a spoiler but the Hide and Show thing is cool ...
