ah but he wasn't interested in proving his innocents, he just wanted to extract his revenge on Pettigrew, that's all he cared about. Becasue it took Harry stoping him to keep him from killing Wormtail!

but had sirius killed Wormtail (like he had been plotting to do) there would have been no way for them to prove that he had done it.
And is it particurlly "good" to be brooding on how to kill someone for 13 year?

He would be able to show them Pettigrew's body. The whole point is that Pettigrew was believed to be blown to pieces years ago...and if he turned up dead, now...then Sirius couldn't have killed him and all those Muggles back then....however, it still remains to explain why he wanted to kill Pettigrew...
...some might think it was to cover up the fact that he sold out the Potters...so Pettigrew couldn't blab.
...a sticky situation all around.

but if he killed pettigrew then all the people that threw him in jail to begin with were right - because he did kill him, just 12 years late.

Maybe...but Pettigrew is a Death Eater, and he was the one who blew apart the street and killed like a dozen Muggles...so Sirius would be doing away with a real mass murderer.

r we sure it wasnt wormtail under some polyjuice potion that busted the fat lady's picture? just a though haha. and even if sirius did know the passageways, wouldnt he still be seen on the map? isnt the point of the map to show the reader where everyone is AND where the secret passageways were? thats how harry got to hogsmeade...

it wouldn't matter to the ministry they would just think they had been justified in locking up the real killer - becasue wormtail would be dead and they wouldn't be able to question him.

how would he have gotten hair or toenails or something else from Sirius, if he'd gotten close enough, he would have gotten eaten!

Yes...well the ministry was quite corrupt...and I agree that they would have put Sirius away rather than try to clean up the mess...it wasn't so much for them about truth as it was about appearance...
...and I don't really think that Sirius would have put his trust in the Ministry...he was thrown away the first time without so much as a trial, after all...
...I think he was quite set on getting revenge by killing Peter Pettigrew, but I think actually meeting Harry and gaining his trust calmed him down a bit...made him want to be exonerated...so that he and Harry could be together.

Yeah Sirius is a good guy. He only wanted to get into the Common Room and missed Pettigrew and hit Ron instead.

If you're judging him by the fact that he wanted to kill Pettigrew and didn't care about anything else then what about the fact that Harry wanted to kill Sirius.. and they were both trying to avenge the exact same death and treachery.. that of Harry's 'rents.
Also Sirius had met Harry before hadn't he? Wasn't Harry around one when he lost his 'rents?
Ps. "ZOMG! Best character ever!" Lol.

| I personally don't think that Sirius is the great guy that a majority believes. When he got out of Azkaban, he should have gone to Dumbledore and explained everything. He could have gotten help but chose not to, which made everyone think that he was a bad guy trying to kill Harry, which didn't help matters. It doesn't really make sense. |

i never understood this movie until i had watched it a few times. wen sirius sys only 1 will die tonight i always thought he meant harry but he means peter petigrew. its completely confusing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol well... that`s the point. Everybody was suppossed to be thinking that he`s after Harry. Well, he was actually, but he didn`t want to kill him.
