he wasn't an idiot. for someone of his standards hes was pritty smart. he would have to go around to everyone of the witches and wizards and trick them into telling him the event that happened. then had to put complex memory charms on them. if he wasn't such a lier and show off he could have worked has an obliviator for the ministry. has for him being good looking j.k Rowling made sure he was. all he had was his looks and a bag of story's thats didn't belong to him.

LOL he reminds me of one of the many way too show-off friends i've had.It was funny how stupid he was at the things, he was supposed to be great at.

Lockhart is the only character in the book that's actually written about a *real* living person that JKR knows.
Apparently he really is *that* vain in real life. He goes around saying that JKR and him are best friends, and she can't stand him.
The media try hard to push JKR into saying who it is, but she won't as she knows it'll ruin his ego/life. But he's so vain, that to this day, he has no idea that's it's about HIM.

I'd hate for anyone to find out who is it. He'd be mortified. Apart from he might have a fan, in our Tessa. We'll have to owl him and let him know... tee hee. (Only joking Tessa, I wouldn't really *do* that to you).
Can you imagine all those hair rollers and hair gels. You'd just die of embarrassment wouldn't you. The fact that it's a real person as well, is just a killer.

JKR is questioned on TV, the question you have to watch out for is from George "are any of the characters based on anyone you know?" And you will die when you hear the reply

I don't like Lockheart, I like Sirius and I'm starting to like Snape, I simply think that he's a great character that iritates Harry... (I sortof like everyone but Harry).

Totally agree. I LOVE Snapes' personality, he's probably as strong or stronger than Dumbledore as a Wizard.
His voice makes me swoon too - always an advantage don't you think?
