Luna is awesome, she is one of my favourite characters. Oh yeah, you can call it 'weird' but she's meant to act like that - it fits the character she's playing. Her voice is sweet.

Weird doesn't necassarily equal "bad." I mean, being weird can be a good thing. It can be positive, not negative. It's all a matter of perspective.
I chose this comment to expand on. I never came into this thread before, but for some reason I felt like it today.
As Ginny said, weird isn't necesarrily bad. It's a matter of perspective. It's also a matter of perspective whether some one is weird or not.
Luna, for example, has some eccentric values that many people think are weird. I bet that if you read the books, each one of y ou will find something that you feel isn't precisely strange about her that pthers feel is strange. For me, whenever she was extremely honest, Harry would feel uncomfortable about the fact that she spoke the truth about things that people would normally lie or not say anything about.
This carries me to my next point, Luna isn't wierd -- from Luna's POV. This thread reminded me of when I was a child. I used to have friends with loving parents who ate at the dinner table EVERY NIGHT. I also had friends who had divorced parents and moms who didn't have time to eat dinner at the table evey night. Then there were my parents. I used to wish that they would divorce. When I planned my future, I planned for death and divorce. I had dealt with the deaths of a few people who I was very close to, so I had a sort of hang-up with death.
In my world, loving parents who made sure you had examples togetherness and good values were weird. I never knew anything other than what I saw. I thought that the divorced parents were normal, because two people just didn't get along like that. I also never thought that it was odd for me to plan my death or my divorce. People thought that ws weird. They also thought it was weird that I would beg my mom to divorce my dad.
When people watch reality shows, they are always saying how weird people are. I bet that if a camera followed you around all day, then a lot of people would find the things that you do weird, as well. _________________

Luna is one of my favourite character... ok, she`s weird but also very fun, clever, friendly... I though that Harry and Luna`ll make couple time ago....
It`s about it how you see others... Also in reality, there are people which are weird and crazy, but when you know their better you can see they are great people... and opposite sometimes people seems normal and you`ll find out later who they are in reality....
Luna isn't weird. She does belive in things that don't exist but that doesn't make her weird. Milions of people belive in christian God that deson't exist. Are they weird then? If that's so then this world is full of wierdooooos.

hmm i think JKR created an admiral character, she is simple, unique and carefree i think she is something i would like to aspire to be, i hate caring about what people think of me if i wear something.. so maybe this character will rub off on people?

Luna is a weird character, but there is one thing I absolutely and wholeheartedly love about her; Honesty. You can, if you want, kill my entire family and bury them, and as long as you have the guts to tell me that you did it, it's fine. (well. Not really, but I could live with you killing my parrot) Luna is also, like Fred and George, a comic relief. I think that it's a weird thing, that; people like her are people that are usually pitied and thought weak. And if you take a look at Luna's character, she's not weak at all. In fact, she's pretty strong. You know how many people would say this: "I liked the DA. It was almost as if I had friends." and would be fine with it? I would personally take the down way if I said it. In her eyes, Xeno told her to be proud of what she is, and to be strong, and in my eyes, she is both.
Now, coming to religiion. I believe, but this doesn't mean I exchange bullets with people that don't believe. I mean, my first crush was an atheist, and it was a pretty bad one too. As long as you don't believe in God, and as long as I believe in God, you aren't screwing with my views and my ideas and I ain't screwing with yours, and we're fine. You have all right to insult me, attack me and call me stupid for believing in God.
