If I made a Horcrux, which I wouldn't but if I did, I would make it something that no one knew I cared about but would be hard to destroy. Like, a rock in the backyard. I actually have sentimental attachment to this small group of little rocks near my house. Weird, I know. But it would be hard to destroy them and it wouldn't be too obvious.

lol . . . I enjoy bringing back great threads taht died. You have a good point about the rock thing. Nobody would guess that it was a freaking horcrux.

Well, I appreciate it. I remember this thread, but I didn't post in it because I couldn't decide. Now, I can post in it. Smile

Plus, it would be difficult to destory that Horcrux. I mean, are basilisk fangs strong enough to cut through those rocks? Maybe the sword is... but the object pretty much has to be destroyed. If you hit the rock with the sword, wouldn't it just crumble into smaller pieces. Would it really be destroyed? Again, assuming that the sword was even tough enough to break the rock in the first place.

That's a good question...I think I'd choose my sell phone...it's like my best friend,or pet,or sth.It's always with me.But it's a little bit obvious,so I'd also choose a doornail in my room...I mean who's gonna think of that?

What if that fate of the world depended on you living for the next fifty years. You and you aloone can save the world. Would you make a horcrux?

Probably my dog.

Does that mean that it wouldn't be able to die?
Because you have to kill Horcruxes with the sword and stuff. SO does that mean you'd have to kill the dog with that aswell. Or would the does die but the piece of soul stay in the dead body? Confusing.

^No it doesn't mean that the dog cannot die. He will be able to die just like normal, and your horcrux would die with it. Jo explained this somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: I found the interview. It was on the pottercast interview that she talked about Harry's horcrusness. This is what she says on a living horcrux.

Quote:
SU: So, can I ask this? This is kind of a random question, but if Harry had this Horcrux in him, sort of, would he actually have died, say, when the dragon could have killed him, or when he was falling during Quidditch, or anything? Could he actually have died?

JKR: Well, you've got to- if his body had been irreparably destroyed. (SU: Yeah.) He has to die to get rid of that piece of soul. His body has got to be irreparably damaged. So a lot of people asked, and I think I've answered this since, but a lot of people immediately said, having finished Hallows, (gasps) "But then, that means in Chamber of Secrets, when he was pierced by the basilisk..." (SU: Oh, right) but no, no, no, no, he didn't die! He didn't die. (JN: Yeah) That was stated right in the beginning with the Horcrux, the receptacle has got to be destroyed. His body wasn't destroyed! He got a bit poisoned, and then he got the antidote, immediately. So that's not going to drive out this piece of soul. Sorry if I sound frustrated, but occasionally...

Now, by irreparabley damaged, I'm not sure what she means. If Harry's body had been fried by a dragon, then I'm certain that counts. I think that any sort or death would count as irreparable damage.

It's just meant to be a fun question. The fact that you wouldn't make a Horcrux makes it that much harder to think of the answer, doesn't it? It's like that question, "Who would you go gay/straight for?" Now, of course most poeple would never go against their sexual orientation, but it makes the question that much more interesting. Or like, if you could only save one of your siblings, which one would you save? Of course you would want to asnwer "I'd figure out a way to save both." But, like, what if you couldn't? That question isn't as much fun, but it definitely makes you think. No one here thinks you are evil enough to create a Horcrux, but it's only meant to be a question that makes you think deep into your soul for the answer.

None of us are saying that we would. It's just a question. I don't think any of us are evil enough to do anything so heinous.
