Yay for Tonks and Lupin.
I hope they both live and get married.
They are so perfect for each other.

I didn't see it coming but i think that they could be good together. However, if it came to a choice of seeing Ron and Hermione and Harry and Ginny living happily ever after or Tonks and Lupin i would rather see Lupins and Tonks' relationship crumble.

I love Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione. But, Tonks/Lupin just has a certain air about it...something you can't really get from the other couples. They really are perfect for each other! Lupin just needs to open himself up and let himself love her.

Tonks and Lupin have no time for a good, detailed wedding. I heard that J.K. was going to make her last chapter a closer, saying what happens to the rest of the cast. I mean, she could say, "Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks were wed last April. Ronald Wesly was a marvalous ring-bearer and Hermione was a beautiful flower girl," or some mushy, gushy love story like that. I am all for it, but I would love to see some description.

I think that they balance each other out- Remus needs to have someone who is more self-assured and Tonks needs someone who is sensible and grounded. And not so clumsy. Very Happy

As I was reading the book, it was kind of freaky, the cousin loving Sirius + Tonks, so I kept hoping on Tonks + Bill but that obviously wasn't going to work out.

But who better than these two?
I wish there was a book on the side about how Remus and Tonks came to be.
(fan fic-urs! go go go!)

the patronus must be a wolf or a werewolf (but not like in the movie, or it wouldn't have much resemblance to a big dog)

i like tonks+lupin. i can now search for sirius and lupin's fics and some of them are in character and they're friends, like brothers.

I think it's very sweet. Although me being a Lupin crazed fangirl, Lupin/Tonks makes me happy. Come on! Pink haired werewolf babies!

I think they would be quite sweet, but i refuse to accept them as Remus belongs to Sirius (and don't anyone tell me he has passed on).

Sweetish, but not meant to be.

Remus and Tonks is a ridiculous couple to me. It came right out of no where in book 6 and I was like whaaaa? They seem to have nothing whatsoever in common (except the battle against the dark lord). I really wish JKR would find a more suitable mate for Remus as I liked his character. When I read it I swear I thought she only did it because she had raised rather odd inuendos earlier when she had Remus staring at Sirius for 44 lines without breaking his gaze. Anyway I hope she finds someone better for him. I can't see him kicking back at Weird Sister's concerts and dying his hair pink and saying "wotcha Harry" nor could I see her becoming a sedate proper wife for Remus at her young age.

Opposites attract? Then why not put rita skeeter with harry or hermione with dumbledore or even better, snape with cho? Because it is ridiculous. Just as Remus and Tonks is ridiculous. He's too old, fiesty (as a wolf), settled and sedate (as a gentlemen) to have to chase through a Weird Sisters concert with two butterbeers and have Tonks sitting on his shoulders while he rocks out.

And she is too young and wild to sit quietly at his side reading.

perhaps they both need someone to balance them out. Sirius has lost his two best friends, he needs someone new to care for and make him enjoy life again. He needs someone who's not afraid to get too close to him because of what he unintentionally is. Tonks needs someone to keep her feet on the ground and pointed in the right direction. Someone to help her grow up a little and become more serious.

Well I agree with you that Remus (I think you meant Remus tho u wrote Sirius) would be best off with someone to love and care for - - but also someone who could love and care for him.

I dunno about Tonks needing to be grounded. She is young, let her sow a few wild oats and then settle down with someone her own age.

Of course, JKR will likely throw them together since she doesn't think very deeply about relationships before shuffling people together (in my opinion). But it would have been nice to see Remus end up with someone a little more compatible. Again, all just my opinion and I am sure others feel otherwise.

I am just tired of Remus having to settle for whatever life throws him merely because he is disabled in their world. I feel the same about those who are disabled in ours. (disabled is the term JKR uses for him, by the way - I would rather just think of him as different in a good kind of way; like those who can run fast or grow their hair quickly).

I guess I just have to agree to disagree. This is the all time worse couple in history. In JKR's books, there is no one who would make a good mate for Lupin that we have seen so far. But sheesh, the wizard world is HUGE. Certainly there is someone who would be a perfect match for the man and the wolf that JKR has shown us.

Tonks is young and a little barmy. She doesn't think Remus can be too dangerous for her. Here is what Remus is afraid of:

1. he forgets to take his wolfsbane potion one night. (or can't get any since it is VERY hard to make and to come by and who knows if Snape will or will be able to supply it to him the rest of his life - or anyone else for that matter. Not many in the wizard world care enough about the plight of werewolves to help them)
2. he transforms
3. Tonk's either doesn't realize it or in her zealous youth and rose colored eyed love figures that "he'll never hurt me".
4. Just like he attempted to ravage Harry and Hermione AND like he did fight with and toss his beloved friend Padfoot aside that evening near the shrieking shack (it normally took both padfoot and prongs to settle him down and one was missing that night), he will attempt to ravage her.
5. Tonks will end up a shredded, quite dead, Metamorph.

So fine. Call them a perfect couple if you want. They are fictional and so we can put the classic fairy tale ending on here and say 'Remus will never forget the wolfsbane potion and always be able to get it' and they will live happily ever after.

Well I say, dream on. The world of fiction is not near as wonderful as fiction with a bit of realism involved. Realistically, he'll mawl her to death one day. She will bore him to death with her youthful outlook (weird sisters, etc) and he will bore her to death with his sedate, quiet reading.

Wouldn't Remus be happier with someone who was into the things he is into and perhaps even someone who could howl at the moon with him when he transforms? Think on it...

so what, is he supposed to never love again because he might hurt somebody? Tonks knows that its dangerous, and she doesn't care. I don't think she'd be dumb enough to hang around him at the full moon, and I'm sure Lupin would make sure she isn't. He could ask the rest of the order to forcibly keep her away if they have to (which I don't think they would). Anyway...she might yet get biten by greyback and be a werewolf too...

I didn't say he shouldn't love anyone. I said he should find someone more compatible to love. Maybe a woman werewolf, but at least someone who has a little brain material and won't make youthful decisions that could potentially cause harm.

her patronus changed into a four-legged creature. its not going to change just because she wanted it to. if she's in love with lupin then it makes sence that a werewolve is what it changed into.

i was suprised but then when i thought about it i think they make a good couple.

Maybe because she is a Metamorph, she can change her appearance into that of a wolf during the full moons?

I think she showed her youth and immaturity by bringing up her desire to be with Lupin for the "millionth" time right after it was discovered Dumbles was dead and Bill was laying on the bed near death from a wolf shredding.

Takes a real immature girl not to realize that was a highly innapropriate time to talk about her personal desires. I thought JKR was absolutely bonkers until she made Lupin say "this is not the time to discuss it, Dumbles is dead" At least someone was being mature about it all. But then again it is supposedly written for juveniles...I suppose that is the land of fairy tales where princes and paupers get together and live happily ever after. And where opposites always attract (kinda like princess diana and prince charles)

why would she change it into a wolve if she didn't love him.

i'm sorry you found that innapropriate. sometimes people just don't think about what they are saying.

so do you like the pairing or not?
