No... in the book there are boys in the school. In the movie they made it an all girls school and Durmstrang an all boys school. But in the books all three schools are all gender inclusive.

I can't really imagine guys in the Beauxbaton uniforms anyway (from the way they looked in the movie). They would look weird in the movie.

But yes, in the books, they were not single gendered.

that was one of things that really annoyed me about this movie. I have no idea what went through their heads when they decided on that. dumb dumb dumb. there are only witches in France and Wizards in Bulgaria I guess Rolling Eyes

and I imagine the boys uniforms would have been different from the girls.

That is true, but they're not really a... manly color. But they could have been a darker shade I guess.

How many students were there from each school anyway (in the movie and book)? I haven't read the book in a long time, but I was thinking that it was the whole school. In the movie they only brought like 20 people each. Maybe females are more dominant magic users in France and vice versa in Bulgaria? Nevermind. That just sounds dumb. I'm not making any sense.

yeah, only a few students who wanted to participate came along.

Well, the colors were chosen after it was probably decided thatt hey were going to make the schools one gender. Otherwise the costume department would have to come up with suitable uniforms for both genders.
I hated that one school was all male... the men were all toush, with fierce uniforms with fire in their entrence
And the other school that was all female was snotty and uptight, surrounded by butterflys. And they were all meant to be pretty and unattanable.
Then you had Hogwarts, which had both genders. And everything as just average.
Both the boy's school and the girl's school were such opposites... I really detested that.

^^ I thought the exact same thing. I had mentioned it to one of my friends who I was watching the movie with,

"How come the other schools look soo much fancier than Hogwarts? They have their own theme and everything while Hogwarts is just, Hogwarts!"
