I've been thinking a lot about this lately and this is what i've come to believe: I do not think he is.
*Why did Dumbledore trust him so much? He is one of the most powerful wizards and he didnt suspect him just one tiny bit? Think about it, what if he had made an unbreakable vow to Dumbledore before, or what if he didnt want to blow his deatheater cover and the only way was to agree to protect Malfoy. Perhaps Dumbledore knew he had to die so Voldermort would trust Snape completely?
*At the end, when Snape is fleeing and he tells Harry the truth about the half blood prince he doesnt seem to be wanting to harm Harry. It seems as he were coaching him.
*What if Snape was in love with lily? What if he felt guilty about her death?
I dont know really...but those are my two cents.
What do you think? _________________
I THINK HES EVIL EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!( i didn't mean 2 but i put i don't know but i mean yes) _________________ hey this is becy I LUV HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how do u find he is evil other than the past death eater things the books show no sign of him joining the death eaters again unless under dumbledores order. he had plenty of chances to help voldemort he could've help quirrel in the fifth book he didn't have to inform the order all the sign just point to him not being evil
I don't think Dumbledore would ever BEG anyone, not even for his life. I think he was asking Snape to kill him. He knew it had to be done, in his near-omnipotent wisdom. Dumbledore trusts Snape implicitly, and that's good enough for me. In the end, I think we will discover he is still on the right side.
I think so too. I gotta re-read that part of the book is so exiting an heart-breaking! *Cries again*
I wanted to hug Malfoy for the first time! Poor Kid! Pity Pity Pity....
At least we know there is still some humanity left in him (Even though his family is very evil...)
Hopefully Malfoy and Snape will play an important part in the last book.
it seems the only way to go with those 2 snape seems to want to help harry snape taunting harry with hints at the end of the sixth book is wat lays out snapes fate pretty much. and the fact that malfoys acting out of fear instead of loyalty shows which path you would pretty much have to give him to. also dumbledore says that voldemort never really reguarded the deatheaters as friends which is what they think they are. we must consider the fact that most of them could turn on voldemort.
I don't think he is ethier. Dumbledore had reasons to trust him. Everyone seems to wonder why Dumbledore is so calm during all of this...Mabye he knew it was coming? _________________
ok i dont know what i was thinking when i wrote that last post if he was stunned he knew there was probably nothing he could do. by talking calmly with malfoy he could have probably gotten out of that situation which was no doubt why he was calm. at the end is when he got nervous because he realized there was no way out of it.
i've been rereading and wondering about this one... There's some compelling reason that Dumbledore believed in Snape; McGonagall says so at the end of HBP. I think Snape was in love with Lily and did something to try to protect her at the very end, but it was too late. Which of course isn't "good enough" to be truly good, but it's something.
that makes sense. when you think about it snape would be on voldemorts good side having given him the info on the prophecy and if snape asked him not to harm lily. it would explain voldemort giving her so many chances to live.
When I first read HBP, I thought Snape was purely evil. But, as Pockets full of crap has shown in their posts on the post Dumbledore's return, the events in the book can be interpreted differently. Like Dumbledore meant to die or to appear to have died. (Probably to save Malfoy)
Now, I think Snape is just acting evil. In SS or PS p.300 Dumbledore tells Harry that his father, James, did something that Snape could never forgive. He saved his life. Snape owes James a debt. Then, Lily and James are killed. Harry is spared and Snape is repaying his debt by helping Harry prepare to battle Voldemort. Snape still hates Harry, but he has this debt to pay so he helps Dumbledore.
I don't know if there was anything between Snape and Lily. I do know that the Penseive showed Snape snapping at Lily when she tried to stand up for him. If he likes Lily, then he has a funny way of showing it. Or is this just some Macho thing. _________________ You're just jealous cause the voices only talk to me!
Perhaps, He seems macho and also there are times when you may like a person but you dont treat them good at all. I agree that maybe DD didnt really die ( but im to confused to really say anything about it...I think that is something i have no strong opinion about because one day i can think he died and the other im back to the he isnt dead idea)
I hated Snape at first too, but now he is one of my favorite characters.(Ive got something for the "bad guys"(misunderstood apparently)
I wish we knew more about the Snape/Lily/James trio.
Im dying to know what really happened there.... _________________
I think that Snape is not evil, it just doesnt fit in well with the story for me. I have no idea what will happen in book 7 but what I really want to know is the big secret about Lily... _________________
Just fun fact on the Snape/Lily theory. Jk is a fan of anagrams eg. Tom Marvalo Riddle = Lord Voldemort. What about Severus Snape = persues evans?
Ok, so persues should be pursues but perhaps its a deliberate spelling mistake. I just thought it was worth a mention
That's interesting to say the least, lol. But I don't think it is =\ It seems too.. ick. Lol. _________________
And on the eighth day, God made Ewan McGregor.
Thats interesting Willow! The whole Snape Lily thing is driving me crazy lol. I have a gut feeling that there was something romantic going on between them. I mean Slytherin's fall in love. Lily was gifted at potions, so was Snape( big turn on IMAO)
A big twist would be if the writings on the Potion's book are not from Snape but from Lily (why Hermione believed it was a girl?) This is very far-fetched but you never really know. _________________
