i think ginny & harry r great but albus as a name for their kid? i understand its dumbledore but its a bit weird. james & lily is sweet because its his parents
Yeah, I totally agree with you... I'm not so set against the Albus thing, because Dumbledore was a big influence in Harry and Ginny's lives, but Albus Severus? Not saying that Snape wasn't a big influence, because he was, but they could've at least made it James Severus instead of Albus Severus! Two weird names in a row just isn't fun...
I mean really, Albus Severus Potter? What kind of a name is that?
I assumed he'd name at least one of his kids Sirius. I guess not.
The common theory is that his first son was named James Sirius Potter.
But in the Wizarding world the first born child usually has the same middle name as the father' (or mother) first name.
Harry's middle name is James, Ginny's middle name is Molly, Even Hermione was confirmed to have her mother's first name as her middle. So I would think that James' middle name is "Harry." _________________

Why you guys gotta be hating on the name? I think they explained it quite well when Harry was talking with his son about being named after 2 of the best headmasters Hogwarts has seen.

Spoiler:
I was surprised that one of Harry/Ginny's kid's name wasn't Sirius too. And I think GinnyX is spot on with the firstborn. I think their first kid's full name is James Harry Potter. Of course, if you wanted to name everyone who died in the book, why weren't Ron/Hermione's kids named after Lupin or Tonks or even Fred? Maybe they weren't close enough?

Can someone please help me, why Hugo and Rose? Nothing is wrong with those names, but... they just seem so random.
And p.s., I think I read a fanfic where Hermione and Ron have a baby girl named Rose. So that name must mean something for a random fan AND JKR to have chosen it.
I was a little curious about Hugo..but I got Hermoine, Rose ...Ron.
I was very pleased with his choice to name their son Albus Severus..if you think about it, the name is not all that weird in the Wizarding world, besides people won't mess with him...I actually would have like her to included the future of all the pivotal characters..like Nevelle's family(maybe he married Luna), Harry's job, etc. But I loved it and I cried, and I am very happy with the final book. My parents read wonderful tales to me as a child. When I have children some day, I will continue this tradition and then we will watch the videos every Halloween(pick a special occasion)...
I was touched by the Dudley, Snape and Ron's pieces within the story. I kind of got that Ron had these hidden feelings because he comes from such a large family. The Dudley and Snape story line threw me for a loop. I absolutely love the Snape story, but it was bittersweet. He truly loved Harry's mother for so long, never even married..Snape had such a rough life. Dudley's admission and treatment of Harry was a long time coming, but it made me cry too! Wow..I cannot wait for the movie, but I know it will not be as good as the book.

yeah great point, a lot of names in the wizarding world are strange anyway. now if they sent them to muggle elementary school it might be a problem. I actually like the name Albus Severus...well Albus more so than Severus. and I think it would be too weird to have Harry James and James Harry...its gotta be James Sirius. or maybe its Lily Sirius lol
oh and about Herm and Ron naming their kid Fred...I guess they left that name open for George's kids, or he had already used it. and I think Tonks would hate to think that a kid was going into life with the name of Nymphadora because of her. might be lily or rose's middle name though. _________________
In Muggle school Nymphadora would have been really bad...but its beautiful in the wizarding world..I could have seen Ron and Hermoine naming their daughter Hera, or Rehana..I actually like that LOL
I believe maybe George, or one of the other Weasley brothers named their son Fred, but the Weasly's are my favorite characters especially Ron. I have a thing for red hair and love...
I am sure Harry turned out to be the greatest godfather and family guy..I just wanted to know if he became an Aurora.
It really hurt when he died as did Hedwig, and I believe the book restored faith and hope in overcoming the impossible, which in reality is what life is about..to me. When you think of JK Rowling being poor to where she is now, using her GOD given talents..that was Amazing..kinda like Harry.
Loyalty in a family let alone a friend is rare. They were (as Hermonie, Neville, and the rest of Dumbledore's Army) were imperative to the story...If one is lucky enough to find such loyalty and friendship..I would say that they have lived a very good life. _________________ The answer to life is love
I didn't like that they were all named after harry's parents/influentional peopel in harry's life i was expecting at least one of thier childrenname to be after ginny's relatives(most namely fred) ,though probably goerge or percy already had
Actually, since he saved everyone, it does figure that there names would be after HARRY. But being the type of individual Harry is, The Weasley name will always be in the history books...under Loyalty Beyond Measure..they have been his extended family from the beginning... _________________ The answer to life is love

Agree. And that's why I'm writing a fanfic where Harry and Ginny have a fourth child named Sirius..............
But really, I understand wanting to honour Severus, but Albus? I wonder... how many kids when he started Hogwarts made the connection and teased him about being named after one of the former headmasters? _________________

Miluna cool name.. thats what I said that Harry and Ron both end up with five kids each...Sirus Hagrid sound about right lol _________________ The answer to life is love

heehee... Nymphadora...
I agree, beautiful in the wizarding world, but in the muggle world... kids can be cruel *coughnymphocough*. I mean, we know it means something great. Besides being named after a terrificly brave and wonderful person, the name itself exudes such wonders. But, yeah, muggle kids might not catch that. It's a shame. _________________

if thats true, then the theory that hermione and ron named their children after hermione's parents goes right out the window
and where did u read that about peoples middle names and the first born child having the same middle name as the mother or fathers first name?

oh i think sirius would be such a cute name name for a girl... although im not so sure the original sirius would have been too happy about that
James told Harry and Ginny that (their) Teddy was snogging Victoire (their cousin) so Victoire was Bill and Fleur's daughter? _________________ "Greatness inspires envy, envy engenders spite, spite spawns lies"
I think instead of doing Albus Severus, maybe do James Severus or James Albus xD
yeah, i agree. but i think the whole point of naming him albus severus, with the first name being albus was so that he would be called albus, it wouldnt just be his middle name that no one really knows... if you catch my drift
