Before i start i want to say i have really enjoyed the books so far and will be buying the lastest one soon. I re-read the fith one in anticipation of the film release. With high*ish* hopes I went to see OOTP whilst in Florida the other week on my summer vacation. I dont know whether its because i had been to see Die Hard 4.0 the night before but i was VERY dissapointed with order of the phoenix. I have felt that the HP movie series as a whole has been very shakey to say the least, but i have to say i kinda enjoyed GOF. This film i expected to be the best one of the lot, but i was sadly mistaken:
Spoiler:
It didnt do ANY justice to the book, had very little action, bad humor and was just dull from start to finish; plus I found it very hard to follow any strand of plot that was going on: Ok Voldemort is back but you saw him for like 60 secs in teh whole movie.
i remembered the book having more "depth" if that is the right word to use.
IMO, the next two movies better have some substance and not just be mindless cult guff to line J.K Rowlings already overflowing pockets. Anyone else have similar thoughts on the issue?
After hearing all the hyped up reviews on the film i could not wait to see it. Just a pity some of that "Hype" didn't go into the movie! _________________
I enjoyed it, my brother who's an avid harry potter book reader loved it, my friends that are just casual sort of harry potter fans loved it, i think it was a really good film. it had a good balance of humor, action, romance etc etc
