Okay, if you were to compare this movie to the novel it was based on, it was not so good, maybe two or three stars out of five, but if you were to look at it as a movie without a the novel on the sidelines then it was great! However there were some things I was a bit dissapointed with that they left out. For Instance: Lily was no where to be found in Snape's memory bit which was a huge downfall, Harry and Cho's kiss was way to long, and they left out the part in the Ministry of Magic when Ron yells "Asio Brain" and one of those icky brains attacks him. For some reason I would have liked to see that scene all though it would have added itleast ten or fifteen minutes to the movie. But if they didnt include that then they could have itleast put in the part where Ginny sees that humming bird hatching and going back into its egg over and over again in the jar. So, I'd love to hear what other people thought about the movie and especially what was left out that shouldn't have been.

I think with the book, the film was bad. I think as a film by itself it would have been even worse. I know HP doesnt have the greastest plot vault:
Harry with the Dursleys - Harry goes to school - him and his freinds have a great time - Voldemort comes along - a couple of people die - Harry saves the day - The end. But this didnt even do as good as that IMO.
This film was like a new born deer standing for the first time.
Lily was not supposed to be in Snape's memory. That is the third book.
Spoiler:
No. Lily was in Snape's memory in the 5th book. Remember the chapter where Snape is called by Draco to go do something? Well, Harry takes a look at Snape's Worst Memory in the Pensieve. The Marauders and Snape were taking an O.W.L. and after the exam, James and Sirius decided to poke fun at Snape and Lily comes but Snape calls Lily a "mudblood". This memory was also in DH but Harry had already seen it so Rowling just made that scene a paragraph or two. Is that even a spoiler? It was in the 5th book...
I was reeeally pissed about the whole Snape memory scene. It didn't even happen the right way, Harry didn't find out about his dad teasing Snape by using the spell to enter a person's head... didn't he look into the piensive??? _________________

The whole scene when they were flying through London after Tonks and MAd-I rescued him was cool, but POINTLESS they could of fit more stuff if they didn't have pointless stuff like that.
After seeing the movie, I'm afraid to see the next two...because I have a hard time separating the book from the movie...and I don't understand how the story can continue as written when things get changed and left out...because more things will have to get changed and left out in the future to make up for it.
It seems kind of like they aren't really looking ahead... _________________

I just remembered something else that was not in the movie, the scene where Harry smashes a bunch of stuff in Dumbledore's office. That would have been a nice addition to the movie!
I really wanted to see the fight scene with Dumbeldore and Voldemort, it was pretty good but I think they should have made it a bit longer, it wasn't even a long movie...
Agreed. That was pure luncy to leave out banning quidditch! How stupid! How can you just leave something like that to the side! They didn't even mention the word once. Including this would have also put more emphasis on Fred and George's break out from Hogwarts.
I agree with everyone's posts. Thanks for replying everybody!
I think that if they wanted to they could have made it longer. It was the longest book of the series yet the shortest movie. It was a good movie but compared to the book it was nothing. The scences they did I enjoyed even thought they did some wrong. I understand they have to take certain things out to make it not sooo long, but they didnt have to focus on some of the things they did and they could have made it a little longer I thought and explain things more. It kind of felt rushed to me.
Oh the things I could complain about for this movie that were altered, left out, or completely butchered. My main concerns were that the DoM battle could've been longer and that they shouldn't have shoved in new scenes like they did, like the altered flight for Privet Drive. But they're going to have ab it of a problem in the 7th movie when the try to explain why nobody can get into the RoR while somebody is always in the room, yet here we have Umbridge blasting through the wall easily as sipping tea. All I can say to them is, good luck with that!
I think the movie was pretty good. Not the best by any means but still good. I was pretty disappointed that they left some of the things that they did out. Not to mention most of the movies are just over 2 and a half hours and this one is only 2 hours and 15 min. They seriously couldn't have squeezed a couple more things in? Come on.
Overall, it was good, i mean it was still fun to watch the book brought to life. Just wished they hadn't dropped so much and changed things a bit.
I just returned from seeing it... what a weird movie.. I don't know.. but I really really really didn't like it!
I was sooo not impressed with the whole thing!
I mean, everything was into fast-forward motion, especially the D.A scenes, though I must agree they were good..
I love Fred and George!! They're honestly my favorite characters!
I was really looking forward to seeing their scene where they wreck havoc on Umbridge... and when that time came...........
No more comments....
The movie was ok, but I didn't like it.. I thought they could have done so much better..
And no where in the book does it say that the corridor of Number 12 Grimmauld Place was really tight....
Harry and Cho's kiss was way to long, and they left out the part in the Ministry of Magic when Ron yells "Asio Brain" and one of those icky brains attacks him.
yes, this is one of the things i REALLY missed... and...
Spoiler:
how they didn't show anything about ron and hermione becoming prefects and harry being a bit left out. and, as i've said before, ALL of the quidditch..
i' m seeing it agian on the weekend at the imax, and i think it might seem a bit better, as i had JUST read the book before i saw the movie...
we'll see, eh? _________________
Yeah I wanted to see the room with the spinning doors, where Hermione (I think) marks the doors that they've already tried. Plus the Brain bit. That woulda been quite good. _________________
