The way Dobby's death was written I really wanted to cry. Dobby was such a noble little guy. After Tonks and Lupin died, the first thing I thought was - Harry can't die because then Teddy would have no one! Fred dying was very, very sad. And Snape, although I love him, I accepted...
I was more angry i think when i read lupin and tonks were dead, it wasn't strong enough and felt as if she just brushed them off as if they weren't important even though at that moment i felt lupin was the most important "elder" about for him to look up to, it was him who taught him how to save himself and so many lives with the patronus charm and him who made harry his childs godfather yet all we got was a simple line of remus and tonks lying together dead..
Lupin's death was most surprising to me. Lupin had been my favorite character since Rowling had introduced him in book 3. He was probably the best Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher that Harry had in his 6 years at Hogwarts. It was real surprising. Also that his wife Tonks had died too. It was most saddening that she and him had Teddy. It was real sad. It seems all my favorite characters die in evrything. _________________
He's there, fighting valiantly alongside his newly-returned bro Percy, and he dies right in front of his brothers' eyes. I could just picture Percy holding the dead Fred, screaming and crying, then charging off Rookwood for revenge...
It was even sadder when Molly screamed at Bellatrix and went haywire on her...I could picture her rage.
None of the other deaths really had much effect on me. But we've been with the Weasleys all throughout the series, and they've taken in Harry so selflessly. Before reading the book, I knew that a Weasley would die (not Ron), and I was guessing it'd be Percy.
It was heartwarming to see Percy rejoin his family in their moment of need, and that made it much harder when Fred died, fighting alongside his brother.
Snape did because I sort of knew he was good all along. But if I had known that Collin Creevy was that cute little kid with the camera when I read he died, I would have voted him.
also snape but i knew he was gonna die...
Fred's death was also very sad...
Colin died? when?
Spoiler:
When Harry is leaving to go to the forest right before he talks to Neville, he sees Neville & someone else (I forgot who) carrying Collins body inside the great hall. Even though he was underage he stayed behind to fight Voldermort
I think Dobby affected me the most while I was actually reading, but Snape's stays resonating with you after the story is finished. To see him finally redeemed, his love for Lily, and all the things he had done for Dumbledore/Harry - and the tragedy of him dying before Harry knew the truth. I had always suspected Snape was good and behind a lot more than we knew, and I hoped to see he and Harry "make up" and finally respect each other.
this book really gutted me, as if it woznt bad enough that sirius died in book 5, now the rest of my fave characters r dead as well. i absolutely cried my eyes out, sum tears od saddness, some of shcok and some of frustration. hedwig's death didnt really do nethin 2 me coz i never got really attached 2 her becoz she had no personality, same with colin creevy, another i didnt get attatched 2. when moody died i woz just in shock. dobby's death woz sad becoz all he wanted 2 do woz 2 b free and save harry. then as the book progressed i woz gutted, when fred died i cried like nethin (one ofmy faves) his bro had just returned and really...who can imagine george without fred??? they were i person. then i had mixed tears when i found out that remus and tonks had died...firstly it woz saddness coz they were my 2 fave characters and they had just got married, remus had had a hard life and had finally found sum1 that made him truly happy and tonks finally got the man of her dreams and then they just were killed (i must admit that teddy didnt really hav an effect on me i woz more worried about the fact that they were even dead), and then i had tears of frustration becoz i saw them as being 2 major characters and their deaths seemed just to b throw in as a flipant comment (oh btw lupin and tonks r dead...it woz like literally 1 line...so angry). although the fact that they died killed me, im glad that they died 2gether becoz i dont think that either would want 2 go on living wihtout the other (teddy or no teddy) and finally the fact that snape had been good all this time and then sacrificed himself woz truly galant. ANYWAY...in the end i voted for remus lupin. RIP Remus, Tonks, Fred, Sirius and Snape. _________________ REMUS,TONKS,SIRIUS,FRED AND SNAPE LIVE!
While I was readingthe book I assumed some deaths like Snape and Mad-eye or Lupin....Just for drama an I thought that someone of the Malfoys would be dead, but not Bella...She is just too wicked..So I must place her death with unexpected ones with Fred and Hedwig......And Tonks...I'll miss them all and I don't see a point in killing Fred,Tonks and Hedwig, does anyone???? _________________
First, in a poll that reveals all the deaths up front, it is vaguely annoying to wade through spoiler buttons when the jig is up from the word go on who died. So I won't be bothering (if you made it this far, you knew or it was spoiled long ago).
I'd have to say Fred. His was the single most surprising death. He was with us since the very first book as he and his twin have a joke at their mother's expense. The Marauder's map was his co-gift to Harry. He was Harry's business partner. His exit from Hogwart's in book five was perfect. Trying to trick the Tri-wizard cup. Batting bludgers. Always there, always fun.
Dobby - well, Dobby was one of those annoying characters. He had a good heart, but the less of him the better. I wasn't surprised, though I thought Rowling handled perfectly.
Snape? No, it is only in retrospect that we see the sacrifice, so his death didn't particular upset me (not in the slightest comes to mind).
Lupin and Tonks: here was the second worst death (I'm combining them). I really liked these two characters, and it would have been nice if one of James' friends survived. Remus was a great featured character from book three, and built nicely from there. I just loved Tonks - what a great character. I think the thing that takes the edge away is that their deaths happened off-screen, so it wasn't as heart wrenching as Fred's death.
Snape did because I sort of knew he was good all along. But if I had known that Collin Creevy was that cute little kid with the camera when I read he died, I would have voted him.
yeah when i read collin died i was really shocked. It was almost a random death but i thought it really gave perspective to the night. So many were killed and it wasn't just the characters that we are really attached too... also it showed how even people of little importance (and probably not that great of skill) fought Voldemort and the Death Eaters. _________________ "Avada Kedavra!"

the death of my inner child. and if you guys dont get it im talking about the lame almost fan-fic ending she gave us. ive never felt this outcasted and alone in a long time.
bellatrix had the saddest impact on me when she died .

dobby's death made me cry because he was in it from almost the beginning, and did every thing for harry. On the happy side, the best way for him to die was probably to die for harry.
I think it was a symbol of the vunerability of wizardkind and equality between wizards and muggles that he was stabbed, not aveda kedavra-ed
[/spoiler]Doby deserves to be remembered the most, not only did he come and rescue everyone in the house of his former master, he disapparated to save Harry and the goblin while he had a dagger sticking into his chest. That part made me feel the saddest during the whole book, but also pridefull because of the sacrifice that he made for them.
