His position in the war has been debated many many times. Is he working for Voldermot? Dumbledore? Or himself?

Spoiler:

After the 7th book, we all know that he was Dumbledore's man, and Harry even acknowledges this in the end

Does anyone else just plain old love him?

I know that everyone loves Sirius, and Harry and Lupin but no one pays attention to Snape. Poor guy, no wonder he's a little bit bitter.

Spoiler:

I hated the fact that he had to die. Sad

Spoiler:

I've never been sure at all with Snape, until reading DH, and seeing that Snape had met his end. That made it kind of sad, because it meant Snape was a good guy all along. Crying or Very sad

Spoiler:

Snape is definitely my favorite character. Has been for a really long time. I've always believed that he supported the light side.

^ Thats a really good way of describing him
He did seem to be more human i guess than the rest
he made some mistakes but who hasnt?
as long as he felt remorse for them, it makes him good

My sister wouldn't hear anything about him being good though, she was convinced he was totally evil so now she is moaning about how he is a goody two shoes haha Laughing. And I agree with whoever said it made him seem more human, he was a great character

Snape isn't a good character or a bad one. In OotP, Sirius said to Harry that people aren't just "good" and "bad", that there is good and bad in all of us. What makes Snape such an interesting person is that the "good" and "bad" in him is so clearly showed. It was as if he was trying to be only one, but couldn't decide which.

But isn't that the truth of it all.

No one is truly good or evil. It's always a mixture of both.

Snape reminds me of the Chinese Yin Yang in a way.

Actually that's where you are wrong. When Tom Riddle was first born he was an innocent.

But, as he grew older, he felt life dealt him a bad hand. Thus, he became evil. I firmly believe evil isn't born, it's created. Voldemort is a perfect example of that.

I loved Snape, I thought he was awesome..

I thought that Alan Rickman played a GREAT Snape. I loved the part in GOF when Ron, Harry, and Hermonie are talking about the Yule Ball and Snape keeps hitting Ron and Harry with the book and pushing their heads down, that scene always makes me laugh.

^lol

Yep Snape's man through and through. By far the most complex character in the books. He's the grey area Sirius was going on about when talking about Umbridge. btw I wonder if anyone out there actualyl likes Umbridge... could be possible.

Only three people come to mind,

Fudge, Percy, and Filch.

I've always loved Snape! I've always found him delightfully nasty, and his moral ambiguity made him very interesting...I always knew there was more there. I was intrigued by him and wanted to know more about his past and what motivated him.

I always thought that he was a good guy without being a good guy, which appealed to me.

After DH, I'm still not sure I know enough about him.

Spoiler:

I knew he would probably die, but I didn't think he would go down like that

To be honest, I've never really liked Snape. Even when I found out he was innocent I still haven't stopped hating him. I know I should feel sorry and appreciative that he was on Dumbledore's side, but I didn't get those feelings.

Spoiler:

Heck, when he died, I started reading the paragragh over and over to really believe it. Confused
