I didn't think it was as obvious that Hermione had feelings for Ron as much as it was in the book. It was obvious on Ron's part. Anyone agree? Or maybe I'm missing something....

I didn't get the feeling she wanted him to ask her to the Yule Ball (besides the scene where she and Ron are arguing near the stairs).

Well, they didn't really allow enough time for that to happen. The only seen in which Ron shows his feelings is during the Yule Ball scene. And, he does this through jealousy. Hermione was far too angry to show her feelings as well. But she did say something to the affect of, "pluck up the courage and ask me straightaway and not as a last resort.' Meaning she would have accepted if Ron had asked her early on.

They did a better job of this in OotP, especially when Ron asks Hermione for help with his paper.

Yeah. The argument by the stairs suggests she wanted to go with him, and then she started crying. Ron was very obvious from the moment he saw her with Viktor. I think that's when he realizes how beautiful she is and what he's missing out on.

They did do a better job in OotP though. All of the looks between them and everything.

I'm looking forward to the sixth movie because that's when it becomes very obvious.

I loved the part when they were arguing! Emma got very emotional, it was quite sad for me. And then Ron said something to like, " They get scarier when they're older" to Harry. I kinda sat there thinking, "JERK" lol

I completely agree.

I honestly think that besides the Yule Ball you never get the idea that Hermione wanted Ron to ask her. Not like in the book, where little hints are dropped. Such as when he makes the comment about not wanting to take an unfortunate looking girl.

In the movie there was more interaction between Harry and Hermione. That scene on the bridge alone would make any movie goer think that Hermione liked Harry. There was no reason why Ron shouldn't have been there. I blame the director because the screenwriter was the same one who did PoA and there were tons of R/Hr things added in. Why the sudden switch? It just felt off somehow.

Yeah, I don't really care for the director of GoF. JK should've had them put more of those hints in.

yeah, because the Yule Ball Brawl scene seemed so out of place.

Yes. I guess he just didn't find the small stuff important. I wanted to see more of it though. I mean, you could tell Ron liked Hermione, but it wasn't very clear on her side. At least some of it was in there, like Ron's jealousy, the row by the stairs, otherwise we'd never of known they liked eachother (in the movies at least). Rolling Eyes
