Just curious. It would be interesting to know because alot of the wiccans or pagans I know take offense to Harry Potter but I see no need to.
So do we have any wiccans or pagains?
Blessed be!
Spoiler:

WICCAN PRIDE!!!

I watched a program on the TV last week about super strict christian families, who raised their kids by the rules of the bible and followed every word. And Harry Potter was a total no-no. They said that it promoted satanism!! They were acting like JK was the devil!! I simply don't understand why. I am Christian and I don't find it in anyway satanic or evil. They probably have never read them so don't even know what is in them

I went to a Christain based school for about a year. I hated it, because according to them everything that didn't have something to do with the bible was PURE EVIL. I had one teacher who was cool though. His name was Mr. Patterson. He was a really strict prespaterian type but t the same time he was very open-minded. He actually said he read Harry Potter. And he used to like a lot of secular music. He was the least strict teacher in the school I think...

no she isn't. she is christian. i may also be christian but i think that all these problems that christianity has with harry potter is pretty insane. because it has magic they say it promotes satanism. Well guess what? they never had problems with the lord of the rings. they never had problems with any other fantasy series. heck, they never had a problem with starwars. just because the current pope, who was a nazi and killed people, has a problem with it it is suddenly a sin. when the last book came out there were book burnings on the news and a debate between a book critic and some evangilitical dogmatic christian. the critic won, in my opinion any way.

So you are one of the few Christian's that know satanism has nothing to do with worshiping satan?

Having read the Satanic Bible, I'm going to take a gander you're a "LaVeyan Satanist?"

Nah, I am inspired by all aspects of satanism, not just LaVey.

Hardcore Christians do get uptight about Harry Potter because the bible talks about practicing or reading anything to do with paganistic material is a sin and is forbidden by Christian standards. I'm Atheist though, so I really don't give a crap..lol

Well, kudos to you for being one of the very few people who know that "Satanism" isn't worshipping the devil. In fact, it is very close to objectivism, if not entirely the same. At least, LaVeyan is. You and I should chat about religions sometime.

Lnknprkfn--I've never heard that theory, but you may be right.

Yes we should chat about religion, as for Lnknprkfn, I know exactly what you are talking about, the people you are talking about were known as the Knights Templar, in which the symbol of Baphomet first appeared.

Don't mean to double post but, alot of what the bible says also contradicts itself. I am not trying to offend, just stating a statement.
