I assumed that it /had/ to be a villian as soon as it started helping Harry out, because irony like that is terribly amusing. I guessed Snape first, just because he used to be Potions master, but my second guess would have been Tom Riddle.

i didn't really try to figure it out all that much but i never really thought snape was the prince.

I had a feeling it was something to do with Snape, but i was doubtful that i was right.

did not think it was snape......I did not think he was that good!!!! Snape was more advanced than Harry at the same point !!!!!! Rolling Eyes

I thought it was Tom Riddle, as he's a half-blood, and he was real smart at Hogwarts. Sectumsempra looked like the sort of thing he'd come up with.

Eh.. at first I wasn't sure. But I always had a hunch that it was Snape because it was a potions book and the owner had a very unique knowledge of potions, so I guessed it was Snape all along.

It came to me as a big suprise but once i new it seemed to fit in place because he is great at potions otherwise he wouldnt be teaching

I suspected it was Snape halfway through the book. But at first I thought it was a new chracter.

I didn't know that it was Snape until my sister told it to me. But I didn't think that it would be SNAPE! Shocked

It came as a complete surprise. I had no idea that it was going to be Snape. I mean it wasn't obvious at all somehow, JKR did that one really good. And somehow it was evident seeing as Snape had to play another major role in some book, either the sixth or the seventh ... and now probably both. Razz

I had no idea at all, before the book came out with all the rumours, and even while reading it I thought it would be a new character, then when I got well into the book an no new character that could be him really came into it I started thinking about current characters who could be the prince but even then Snape didn't come to mind.

I knew it was Snape before i even started reading the book, because an idiotic friend of mine thought it would be amusing to spoil the story.

Never did it occur to me once that it was Snape.. never occurred to me that he would hit Dumbledore with the Avada Kedavra either..
