I'm kind of confused..when i read the book it didn't real come clear exactly what a horcrux was? i was wondering if someonecould give me some info. _________________ .:.Sarah.:.
A Horcrux is a magical object, in which a witch or wizard stores a part of their soul, so they become immortal. When that person gets killed, they can still survive in a weak, spirit-like form(like Voldemort in Book 1), because part of their soul is still intact inside the Horcrux. Voldemort has six Horcruxes-his soul is divided into seven, with the seventh part inside his newly regenerated body. That way, if someone wants to kill him, they have to destroy his six Horcruxes containing six parts of his soul, before duelling him. To create a Horcrux, you have to kill a person, because killing rips the soul apart. At that moment if you say an incantation you can store the torn part of the soul in the Horcrux. It's a bit complicated, even I had to read the part where Dumbledore exxplains Horcruxes several times before I got it. _________________ Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus
ok thank you very much..well i had read it but it never really registered what it was?? hopefully that'll help me understand it now..so how many horcrux's are left? _________________ .:.Sarah.:.
I will answer that one. Voldermort has exsacly one left. Harry already found the other six. Does that answer your question?
No, actually Harry hasn't found the other six. He's destroyed one(Riddle's diary), Dumbledore destroyed one(Marvolo's ring) and they know what the 3rd and 4th are: Slytherin's locket and Hufflepuff's cup. They thought they had found Slytherin's locket in the cave, but it was a fake. Someone called R.A.B
Spoiler:
Possibly Regulus Black, Sirius' brother
has taken the locket and destroyed it. So that leaves THREE horcruxes, not one. I've already explained that Voldemort has SIX not seven, as his soul is divided into seven and the seventh part is inside his body. Dumbledore clearly explains this to Harry in the book, you should read it again. Harry still has to destroy the cup, and then find out what the remaining ones are and destroy them as well. Dumbledore tells Harry that after he finishes this, he should go after the the seventh part of Voldemort's soul that is inside his body, which would kill Voldemort. _________________ Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus

Your personalities clash - it's a bit like reading a Ron and Hermione bit of the book. _________________ "WAR IS PEACE
