it could be as trivial as his favorite type of ice cream (bubblegum? chocolate chip mint?) to perhaps...

1) How many people did your parents name you after...to have 3 seemingly meaningless middle names?

Maybe this is the obvious question, but I'd ask him how he knew he could trust Snape. What changed his mind, and what doubts did he have.

I would also ask him who his high school sweetheart was.

id also ask him if he Killed The Dark Lord Gwindelwald because it said vanquised ... di dhe KILL him or just send him away ... lock him in suspended time or something you know

id ask him 155 questions... too long so im not gonna post them all... but yeah about the socks... well he could be telling half the truth. dumbledore doesnt lie... yet that was a persnal question. however, socks symbolize freedom. so maybe all he really wants is to be free. dumbledore, after all, is a very simple man. he was gifted with extraordinary talent and thus the burden is on him to solve the problems most people cant.

but if only he could be free of that burden, and be a normal man....

Socks symbolize freedom in the sense that Dobby is given socks in order to be renounced of his role as Malfoys slave. This subtle hint could be showing that Dumbledore truly saught freedom over everything else. freedom from human nature? eh who knows. Maybe he actually did want socks. or an iPhone.

actually...was i the only one that caught on to the fact that for the first time...there was a radio that the trio was listening to at hogwarts? (movie)

1. just because dobby had socks doesnt mean socks symbolize freedom. any type of clothing was able to free an elf

2. maybe dumbledores feet were cold at the time and all he really wanted was some socks like when he was walking and the room of requirements turned into a bathroom

3. what part was there a radio? when they first get into the common room?

socks symbolize freedom in a way, because in COS, dobby's ticket to freedom was a pair of socks.

but that could also be symbolized by a shirt or shorts or any other kind of clothing like a hat. the hats that hermione left around also freed the house elves. i think that dumbledore was just cold

in DH, harry says after he talked to Dumbledore in kings cross station after he "died", "so thats what he must have saw in the miror of erised".
it doesnt exactly tell you what harry thinks, but i think Dumbledore saw his family together and happy

In DH Voldemort kills Grindewald, it says so as he is searching for the Elder Wand. DD subdued him and had him locked away in one of his own prisons.

ya i assumed DD saw his family and his sister if she would not have been tortured, or whatever you wish to call it.

i got the impession socks symbolized freedom to because the whole CoS thing with dobby and DD wanted to be free from the responsiblity of protecting his sister
