Yeah, I definitely prefer Richard Harris. He seemed more calm. The new Dumbledore seems aggresive and irritable. Plus he's now shorter, stockier, and younger looking. _________________

see this was a hard decision for me. cause i believe that the overall look of dumbledore was shown better as richard harris, but i prefer the way the present dumbledore acts. like he isnt just some old man...
... so i guess a bit of both for me. _________________

Richard Harris really knew Dumbledore, his version was more charming and wise.
The present one is...not |

Hummm.. I prefer, Richard Harris, he was more magical.
When I read Harry Potter, when I see the name "Dumbledore", I always think in Richard not the new one. _________________ Nothing can separe me from HARRY POTTER.

I hate the tired beard. And MG is always holding onto his robes. Really annoying and I don't like his voice. But, I think he got some bits right I think he gives Dumbledore more energy - yet he doesn't bring all the charm and fatherly figure that RH brings. So a combination of the two ( a bit more RH than MG) would be goood. |

Richard Harris, he seemed calm and the perfect Dumbledore, the present one has too much of a temper. _________________ Bring on the rain,

| Gambon was better, but I really don't think either was brilliant. For me, the only actor who could ever play Dumbledore dies fourty years ago. I don't know why, but it's always William Hartnell who plays the part in my head. |

Richard Harris WAS Dumbledore. What kind of question is this? _________________

personally i throught richard harris played dumbledore better as he acted like the dumbledore in the books with a passive and calm nature. Where the present dumbledore has a sort of aggessive side.
What do you all think? |

Well the present Dumbledore now is very eager and angry most of the time. But can you picture the 1st book Dumbledore fighting Voldemort in the 5th movie? He was waay to old. You have to admit.
I just think the present Dumbledore has done a perfect job at portraying the Dumbledore we have wanted. Even though I have to admit, the 1st book Dumbledore was the Dumbledore I pictured in my mind. He was great.
Just Admit it. _________________

If the Director of the First 2 movies was doing it, as well as the Actor for Dumbledore, I can picture it. _________________

| (I'm in the minority here, but I prefer Michael Gambon more so than Richard Harris. It must of been hard to come in and take over from the Dumbledore role after RH did such a fantastic job, but there is just something about Gambons voice and the spin he has put on Dumbledore. Alot more energetic, powerful, opinionated. He plays him very gritty, realistically--which is going to be great for the final film when the whole story about his sister, mother, brother, his 'tainted' background with Grendowald, his greedy visions with the Hallows etc. I don't think Richard Harris could of given us that, he portrayed him with lots of wisdom, but honestly Gambon does the same, especially the scene where Harry/Hermione travel back in time.. I just love his interpretation of Dumbledore.) |
