What is the connection between voldimort and potter? Also why does voldimort consider harry such a threat? Why does he want him dead so badly? Or am I missing something from the earlier films? Thanks.

the connection between voldemort and harry potter is that when harry was a year old, voldemort tryed to kill him, using the avada kedavra curse, but it backfired and voldemort could'nt come back into his body for another 16 years. and voldemort consider's harry a threat because he heard the first part of the prophecy that was the glowing orb in the movie, saying that the enemy of the dark lord would be born on a certain date, to parents which have thrice escaped him, etc. etc. etc. and he wants him dead because harry was his undoing from power 16 years ago. and you shouldnt watch the films, read the books, as they tell the whole story, and don't cut scenes out for length purposes.

He transferred some of his powers, Dumbledore does say this in the Chamber of Secrets movie at the end, so that's one connection.

And yes, Voldemort sees Harry as the only person who can kill him because he hinges so much on the Prophecy, so he went after Harry assuming he was the "Chosen One" and he marked him as his equal and the only one who would have a chance to destroy him.
