I have a weird feeling that Snape was in love with Lily. And also that she had something to do with Lupin too, but I'm not sure how. Probably not in a relationship way, though. Anyway, off topic. Anyone agree with the Snape/Lily theory? When asked if Snape had ever been in love, JK answered yes. And I just...have a feeling. I don't think they were in love with each other, but Snape loved Lily.

It'd be just another reason for Snape to hate James, more than he has already. I also had a hunch that he secretly admired Lily. But then I remembered how he didn't respect her during that memory when he was bullied by James. And calling her 'Mudblood'. Although that just might be a mask for his true feelings.

Meh, I'm not sure he ever really had romantic feelings for anyone. He's too much of a git to like anything but the dark arts

why is snapes worst memory his worst memory? its because he felt like he lost lilly forever then, when he called her a mudblood. its not because he was being picked on.

I guess it's a possibility and would give Snape another reason to hate James, but I'm not sure. Never really occurred to me, tbh.

But as for Lupin, the thought had crossed my mind. In the third movie (I can't remember if it was said in the book too, been ages since I read it) Lupin talks with Harry on the bridge. He tells him that Lily had a way of seeing the best in people even when they couldn't see it themselves. I always got the feeling that Lupin had a crush on Lily because of this, but I doubt they got involved in anything as Lupin and James were close friends, and I can't see Lupin doing anything behind James's back (especially since he's referred to as the "good boy" in the 5th book)

JKR already said Lupin didn't have romantic feelings for Lily because James was his buddy and he respected their relationship. Her words not mine.

As for snape, I agree. The greasy git only had time for the dark arts and running around trying to get the marauders expelled. I liked it that Sirius showed no remorse in the Shrieking shack for the werewolf prank he had done to Severus - I noted that Lupin didn't seem to much care either, at least he never voiced any remorse, nor did he admonish Sirius for being happy about it.

Well, I would agree, but JK said that he HAD loved someone, so it was a someone, not a something. So I just thought of Lily, I've always thought he had feelings for her.

I've had the same hunch, it really seems possible now that so much has been pointed out.
Lupin liking Lily never really seemed possible at all to me, plus what someone else has said, *pokes whoever it was*

If he was in love with Lily he showed her his love in funny way. He called her a mudd blood and stuff like that soo.. And he also told one piece of Trelawney prophecy to Lord Voldemort. We'll see in 7th book.

Hmm...Lilly and Snape are true best friends.

Imagine if Snape married Lilly and became the father of Harry, that would freak me bad cause James was heeps better then Snape anyway.

I feel sorry for him - he really did love Lily. It def. explains why Snape was so bitter around Harry...
