Lucius Malfoy and Uncle Vernon aren't the best of fathers but they can't compare with Barty Crouch Senior and Tom Riddle Senior. Barty send his son to Azkaban and Tom has left his woman when she was pregnant. What a bastard.

I agree..that's like if a guy drugs a girl to sleep with him and then when she realizes what happened she leaves him...they never had anything real to begin with because merope had to "drug" him to get him to be with her....it's not his obligation to take care of a child that he was essentially r*ped for her to conceive. I think that Uncle Vernon was a pretty crappy dad, because technically he was Harry's legal guardian/father. He kept him in a closet for 11 years for crying out loud.

I'd say Lucius Malfoy or Uncle Vernon...But seeing as how Vernon wasnt really Harry's dad, I voted for Malfoy.

I voted Tom Riddle Sr., but after going back and rereading the Gaunt parts, I've changed my mind and don't think he is at all.

What happened to him is akin to rape; I don't think he has any responsibility towards a child he was forced to have against his will.

I'll say Vernon, because of how poor a job he's done with Dudley, and how unaware he is of it. Draco may be a bully and wholely unpleasant, but one way or the other, that seems to have been Lucius' intentions (and at least he's a sophisticated bully, unlike Dudley). It's not Lucius' parenting skills as much as world view and morality as a whole which are the issue there. Vernon is just delusional.

Alot of you are saying that Tom Sr. was a bad father. This may not really be the case. Clearly, Tom Sr. was a bad father, but, by leaving the house completely, he could have been doing Tom Riddle a favor. He could have been a much worse father if he stayed around and treated his son poorly.

The Dark Lord didn't turn out the way he did because of good fathering skills...didn't he run out on them? that's worse than no father...maybe...i'm not sure.

it's a hard choice but i went with Tom Riddle Senior.
but i was going to put Malfoy because he volunteered his son to do bad stuff and made him a snotty child but in the end was okay i guess.. but still.. so yeah ol' V's dad

I wouldn't doubt it....
But maybe they keep prisoners on a regular basis?
