i think the N word might be the most offensive word out there... i'm not even african american and i'm still offended by it...the only other word that i consider on the same level is a 4 letter C word

just a personal opinion

It's one of the words that upsets me the most, especially when used in an obviously derogatory way.

I agree that it is offensive and all, but at the same time the people that are most offended by it use it all the time amongst themselves, and i think that's a bit hypocritical... No offense or anything, but why use a word that you hate so badly? It confuses me.

It doesn't really upset me. I just never say it. It will accidently slip out when rapping to some of my songs. I think it's just a whole hypocritical thing. People can say it amongth themselves, but if you say it to them they'll take it offensively. The same thing is between girls when they joke and call friends w****s or s***s (I didn't think those would be appropriate to type on the boards). It's not a problem unless someone you don't like says it to you.

I don't think it's a good word, but I get annoyed when people get angry if someone says it. You're only giving the word more power by doing so.

And the C word is my favorite insult. :/ I got in an debate with a girl about whether or not it should be said. I won and then she decided it wasn't so bad. :]

That I will agree is a fun insult xD... Me and a few of my friends will get into random insault wars, and it gets thrown around a lot xD

If used negatively, I'd wish people would use a different word. When talking with friends and saying what's up, I see no problem and I am guilty of that myself. (Refering to the ending with a "a" not "er" of course.)

i dont think there is anything wrong as long as it is not used in a derogatory manner. they really are black, you cant call them white. but if you say it in such a way that it sounds so racist, then its really bad. if im not mistaken, i think the term is okay with them. so i suppose there is no problem. if they didnt like being called as such, then we should stop it.

I think it's okay for a black person to call someone "the N word" - is it considered a sear word? - However I have friend who get offended when a white person calls them a N*****.

As a black person I actually don't give a S*** - besides I don't hang out with the so called cool people who use the word

PS I figured out what the N stands for but what exactly does the C stand for?

well then if that is the case then one should be particular to whom the word is to be used. although i dont think there is anything wrong with it, if the person concerned sees it as derogatory, then it shouldnt be used.
