On my forum, http://deathlyhallows.freeforum.ca , one of the members said that the locket was also meant as a key. Maybe for gringots, or hogwarts? Idk...what do you think?

well i think that it does have some importancein the last book if it didn't j.k. rowling would not talk about it as much as she did in the book so i think that it will have some importance in the final book

To what. What needs to be unlocked? Unless it is a key to the real Horcrux, which some people say is in Sirius's house.

thats where i have been thinking really hard.. now on my forum it says that R.A.B (suposedly Regulus Black) and kreacher, went to the cave and was able to retreive the real locket and replace it with the fake one. And i observed the UK book cover real well, and it looks like the trio is falling throught gringotts. Because gold and gems are falling. Maybe R.A.B hid the horcrux in gringots...knowing that it will be save.

But reguless Black if you remember correctly, disobayed Voldemort... Why would he be keeping it safe? Could he have already destroyed it?

Yeah Iknow...

I remember something that Doumbledore said to malfoy right before he died.... He said that it was possible for the order to help the Malfoys fake thier death... and they would all be safe. Could it be possible that regulas is alive under that protection that DD spoke of?

you mean the horcrux is a key..?

yeah, but not a key in the literal sense. its gonna unravel some mysteries, not the least of which is the identity of the mysterious RAB

It's got enormous significance!

It means that Dumbledore was very much wrong, at least THREE people know about the horcuxes...why not more?

yeah what can we derive from it?

1. there's an RAB person who knows of the horcruxes
2. dd, harry, snape, and RAB know about he horcruxes, we dunno if there are others. maybe bella.
3. RAB is an enemy of voldie

there are seven horcruxes, 2 of which we know are destroyed, the ring and the diary. that leaves 5 more horcruxes. Voldy wanted to have a relic of the founding fathers as a horcrux. we also know that he liked to have it in a location where he used to know or had some meaning to him. other than that, we can only speculate.

you forgot to add Lord V himself...which means that we know of 3 of them. And then we know about the locket, which makes it 4.

whoa... taht's a good theory. so its more than just a key to the clues...

there is a key to where the real locket horcrux is.

ya know the symbol on the spine of the uk edition? what if that was the symbol in the "Black vault".
