well here is some of the work i have done for a traditional pen and paper Harry Potter roleplaying game. I haven't made the game specific for any time period and you can play it during the 1st war, 2nd war or any other place you like. Since a lot of the wizardary world is incomplete I'm filling in the blanks and changing a few things for playability.
So far here are the stats and 3 races...
Abilities

Strength- Strength represents a characters strength, toughness, physical health and stamina.
Dexterity- Dexterity represents a characters agility, nimbleness and hand-eye coordination.
Intelligence- Intelligence represents how smart they are and how well a character reasons.
Wisdom- Wisdom is a characters willpower and commonsense.
Charisma- Charisma represents how well a character gets along with others and how well they interact with them. Note: It is a common misconception in RPGs that Charisma represents the characters physical attractiveness and appearance. This is not 100% true, although attractiveness does play a part. For example a character could be very attractive physically but have a low charisma score because they have an arrogant attitude, very shy or something else not likely to endue them to other people.
Perception- Perception represents the character’s alertness to their surroundings.

Races
Humans
Personality- Humans vary widely in personality, customs, morals and habits. The best and the worst are found among humans.
Racial Traits- Humans suffer no bonuses or penalties to their ability scores.

Half Veela- Half Veelas are offspring between Veela and Humans. They look like human females off ever pleasing features. Their eye color is often blue and their hair varies from silvery blond to almost white.
Personality- Half Veelas usually come off as arrogant and haughty to other races and this can make it difficult for some to deal with. Since they are used to people trying to befriend them, gaining their trust can be difficult, but once befriended they are loyal and dedicated friends. While most half veela are generally good they are often feared as hedonistic seductresses, manipulators, and seducers of the weak willed, a reputation that some fully deserve. Fortunately evil half veela are rare as they are terrifying.
Racial Traits- +8 charisma, -2 strength, -2 wisdom.
Special Abilities -Half Veela generates an aura of awe 10feet around them. This aura only affects males. Any male in this aura is automatically affected by the spell.
Half Veela can cast the spell charm person at will. They must wait an hour before using this power again. Unlike their awe aura, this power CAN affect females but has a reduced affect on them. Females affected by this power get +5 to their will save to resist it. A half veela must make eye contact with the target to use these powers.

Half Giants- Half giants are the offspring of human and giants. They look like normal humans but obviously larger.
Personality- Half Giants vary widely in personality, morals and ideas. Half Giants raised among giants are usually evil though. Due to their Giant heritage, many people fear them, assuming them to be brutal, cruel, and evil creatures who will kill and devour a person the first given chance.
Racial Traits- +6 Strength, -2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma.
