I thought he was really funny - espacially the part where he comes to Private Drive to warn Harry that he is in danger  also the way Harry thought LV had a brother ( hey that's a great idea for a fan fic too bad i can't write) - and also a bit dangerous. A great combination of humor and over zealous will to serve, truely one of a kind

I loved Dobby too but I agree with Pockets that hes annoying. I was thinking just tell him WHY he cant go back to Hogwarts 
But he is s really sweet character, he looked just like i imagined him to.

Well i loved Dobby. He cracked me up in OoP when Hermione left all the hats and he wore all of them. I also liked Winky, her being drunk, now that is funny.

Like in PS, I had only watched the movies and not read any of the books yet. I just finished reading this one last night and like PS, it did not go too much away from the movie which I like.
I liked Dobby, even though he annoyed me at times, in both the book and the movie. He, at times, almost reminded me of Ja Ja from Star Wars 1. LOL!
The part I loved the best was when Harry freed him at the end, and Dobby went up against Lucius. I'm sure Dobby would have protected Harry from anybody, and it had nothing to do with how Lucius and that family had treated him all those years. I believe that Dobby truly feared for Harry and respects him.

dobby=says "sir" too much, and appears randomly
kreacher=basically killed sirius
winky=drunk and emo and annoying
sorry to be so negative, but i just dislike them. i do understand how some ppl would find them cute, tho. |

Dobby is so funny when I watch the film in the cinema I wanted to fall over laughing when dobby had his first sceen.
Dobby: Never has ever told Dobby to sit down. (starts to cry)
Harry: What you talking about?
Dobby: Dobby has an evil master and never lets me sit down...Bad dobby. (starts hiting his head with a lamp )
Harry: Put that down Dobby.

| I really did not enjoy Dobby or his character in any way. He, to me was just sort of there...and rather annoying as well. I mean sure sometimes I felt bad for him for what he had gone through but, sometimes he complained too much or was just sobbing like crazy. Although he helped Harry out a lot, which I am thankful for, but he also got him in a lot of trouble and whatnot. I just felt like his role was sort of...uneccessary, per say, but then again you always have to have some sort of comic relief added to the story and Dobby was sort of it, besides Ron. |

dobby is very very very annoying in this book. if it wasnt for him then harry would have a much better time. he would have gottne letters from his friends, not got in all that trouble with the dursleys, got on the train, and not needed to regrow his bones in his arm....
but he gets much better in the other books, he actually becomes one of my faves

I think Dobby is quite loveable even though he got Harry into trouble and danger but he is a house elf and doesn't think logically like humans. He only wanted to help, he didn't think of all the stuff that could happen to Harry if he sent a bludger after him or sealed the gateway.
Anyway so Dobby is really cute and I was so compassionate when Lucius kicked him and treated him cruely. I could never do that no matter how angry I'd be with him ...
