Well I voted WORSE but I actually believe that they go UP AND DOWN. Like one movie could be good, the next one is bad and the one after that is good. Depends on the director I suppose. The first 2 movies were good. Third one was even better even tho I didn't like the third book much. Then the fourth movie was kinda crap so it got WORSE there seeing as the director just cut, or should I say HACKED, half of the book out but the new movie has began to RISE again seeing as it was good. They cut out quite a good bit of the book but nothing TOO IMPORTANT I suppose and the action and effects was great so...The series has began to get better again. Hopefully it gets even better for the 6th and 7th movies Very Happy

worse..

becasue they keep cutting too much stuff out. not putting in enough of certian characters (eg. ginny) changing scenes around.

but just becasue i voted worse. doesnt mean i dont like the movies. i absolutly love them...

my biggest concern is that DH. wont be the 2hr plus movie i expect it to be. lol. Laughing

I love love love the movies, don't get me wrong. I think they've taken a lean towards going down the toilet just a bit, though. I think the first movies were a lot more book accurate (as far as them including little bits of info) and I think the newer movies are spending more time on the more important scenes (like the action parts). Don't get me wrong, I love the duels and etc...but I really like the little non-important parts too! I think I just wish they'd make the movies longer so they wouldn't cut out so much. Seems like they are getting shorter with time and cutting more out. I hope they don't do that with the last movie, or I'll be really pissed.

they are cutting more and more stuff as the movies continue, thats why some people think they are getting worse, and maybe they are right Sad

Each Director gets worse and worse. As I have said in another thread, eventually by the 7th we won't even be following the book at all.

Who would say they're getting worse? They may be getting more dark and mysterious, but I think they're getting down to the nitty gritty now. It's real deep stuff. I love it

its not that they are getting that worse, its just that each time they cut off more and more scenes, and they are giving less and less explanation to stuff

some ppl who didnt read the books found OotP movie a bit difficuly to follow, cause they dont add all the necesary info

I think they are getting worse... well not totally i still like them it's just that the 5th movie seemed a little rushed in my opinion. It went by really fast and all the parts i wanted to be in the movie they had cut out. It was a little disappointed, the book was definitly better.

Definately better...except DUMBLEDORE. I'm sorry but I just can't stand him. I loved DD from the first 2 movies but...hate new one. He's so UN-Dumbledore. I can't watch a HP movie (except 1&2) without getting frustrated about him.

ok heres the deal the movies are getting somewhat better but they're leaving a bunch of stuff out, big chunks,or either changing the storyline.

I can't even vote, it is too dificult to say...
-The first two movies were great, the first a great introducter, both including the good Dumbledore
-Three is probably my least favorite
-Four is great, I love the chalenges
-Five is sort of mantage-like, but still good
They are all too different

yeah i have the same problem

also, i really like the two first movies cause they were very faithfull to the books, but the other three are more dinamic, which is more entertaining, so i have trouble deciding lol

I personally think they're getting better. I didn't really like any of the movies until I saw OotP. I love David Yates as a director and I think he's done a great job with OotP. I thought GoF was absolutely terrible, so anything could've been better, but OotP was, in my opinion, the best. I think that he's going to do a great job with HBP and DH. I can't wait to see the results.

Gotta say worse. The first two stuck to the books well, but the other three didn't and missed out loads of things. In Prisoner they forgot to mention how Sirius escaped from Azkaban which I think is pretty important. They destroyed Goblet which was my fave book. The Hungarian Horntail Dragon was a Wyvern for God's sake! Order of the Phoenix is just chronic!

Fellow judges, lawyers, politicians, mayors, presidents, ship owners and simple house cleaners...
The movies are getting WORSE.
The first movie was pretty average... well, it was fun watching it.
The second movie, the outcome of a nice book, was definitely good.
The third movie, the outcome of a GOOD book, was average-good.
The fourth movie, which to me looked more like a teenage-worries movie, was average.
The fifth movie SUCKS. In all angles and views.
Where's Mungo? Where's the pool of dirt Fred and George did? Where's Umbridge's hand in the fireplace?
Okay.... where's the fight in the department of mysteries? Because THIS was not a fight. They cast one or two spells and they started running, in the book there's an awesome lot of ten-fifteen pages of chasing up and down, and meh, don't tell me they had little time, because they added total crap and pushed this aside...
Cho betrayed the Order? Great job.
Kingley Shacklebolt says the "Dumbledore's got style"? Nice work.
Neville Longbottom reveals the secret about his parents to the lot? Nice one.
Fred and George's escape was described as awesome. All I saw was a couple of small fireworks, and one big, as well as a big "W", while people cheered all over.
Where is Firenze, again? He decided to not come after all?
Grawp is a friendly kind giant now? I recall him as being a reckless one...
What, Centaurs don't speak? Because I don't remember anyone speaking.
Where's Hagrid's throwing off from the school? Or did the productions want to spend little effort on a hand fight because there were children around?
They have two-three hours to make it, meh... Lord of the Rings has two-three hours, yet they made the movies quite good.
"If they can, why not us?" ~ Harry.
And who the HELL is Nigel?

Personally, i think the movie's have been getting better. They did a really good job with the first one, but there wasn't much to leave out anyway. When the books start getting longer, then there's more that has to be left out in order to keep the movie from going on for too long. The reason Goblet of Fire had so much left out of it is because there's alot of things that don't really effect the plot too much so they had to cut it. The same applies for Order of the Phoenix and will stay the same for Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows.

It might just be because Order of the Phoenix was my favirote out of all seven books, but they did an amazing job with it. I went and saw it in theatres three times.

Evil Love Is Stronger, It sounds to me like you were expecting way too much for a film. From you're criticism, it sounds like you wanted them to keep everything exactly the same as the books. Well, in which of the movies have they done that? Out of all five they've made so far, which ones kept everything exactly the same?

Errmm.. Worse.
I love the first three movies. PS and COS seemed to be really true to the books (well, there wasn't much to leave out). POA's art directory was sort of better than the whole movie itself, and it missed quite a bit about the Marauders, but it was funnier than the others. I liked it.

GOF kind of looked a bit under-budget to me. I have no idea why. It didn't really have the magical element and it's a bit disappointing compared to the book. I found it a bit boring. The beginning was soooo rushed.

OOTP was good. When I first saw it, I loved it. Then after a while, I stopped liking it a bit. It's pretty average, but it wasn't too bad in comparison with the book. It didn't explain too much about the prophecy though, but I suppose it wouldn't translate too well into a movie, so they just had to give some basic information.
