im re-reading this book (along with the others) and it might just be me but does anyone else feel almost everything that happens seems like it will relate to the last book, like when they go to gringots and the way everything is introduced...liked to hear some thought =]

read the one when harry and ron make-up predictions for their homework i cant remember if it is the 4th or 5th book but you realise the everything they make up, even though when you first read it, it sounds stupid comes true maybe some of the predictions relate to the next book too..

I was thinking that when I first started to re-read. I was scrutinizing every word for something to hint.

absolutely, right down to Gringotts. Right away in the first book we know that Ron's brother works for Gringotts, that they have these great tunnels underground, that you do not mess with their money and they an be dangerous. All of these things crop up later in the books. Goblin rebellions, underground passageways, lost money... And this is just from one short scene in the first book. So much is foreshadowed in just the first book alone.

the scene where harry si introduced to the centaurs is interesting as well. Most of what they are saying originally seemed like random jargin, but after the other books have come out and i re-read the series loads of times; could the centaurs predictions have some meaning? Trelawney also had loads of predictions that could turn out to take some sort of effect?

And in the beginning of the book when Dumbledore is leaving Harry at the Dursley's steps he shuts off the street lamps with his deluminator that he later gives Ron in deathly Hallows...

You can really tell that she had the whole thing planned out from the start.

Does anyone know if she just wrote the whole thing at once than just released them at different times?

no, she did serious planning on what the central plot line was, but thhings always get shifted around in editing. she didnt write them all at once, its litterally taken her 17 years to write 7 books.

ya she probablly had a lot of ideas for it like the main ideas but as she wrote she probablly changed them... like i read an interview thing with her and she was talking about her options and how she was going to do one thing but changed her mind at the last moment

yeah she defiantly had it planned from the start theres no way it would have been as good if she just kinda winged it as she wrote each book

Yea I agree everything was planned from the beginning... to me that's part of JK's genius. Like everything started to hit me as I was reading the 7th book. Every single event was fate and almost every mundane detail in the beginning of the series had significance in the end. Everything was tied together brilliantly, in my opinion. Now I'm re-reading so I can catch all the subtle details and understand how they fit into the bigger scheme of things.
