|
|
If you look at the preview for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, you can see that one of Dumbledore's collected memories (all of which are labeled) has a triangle on it.
My theory is that this is the symbol for the invisibility cloak (the Hallow), because the symbol for the Hallows was made up of a triangle for the cloak, a circle for the stone, and a line for the Elder wand.
This is all speculation and it may have been posted elsewhere, I don't know, but what do you guys think? |

Yeah, this could be... Just a gag of the producers to look if someone watches closely...
Or maybe it's just a triangle. XD _________________

Hmm, you've got a good eye, that's for sure. I, for one, was just thinking, 'So that's what that cabinet thingy was holding this whole time! Memories!'. As for it possibly being the symbol of the invisibility cloak, you never know with these producers and that idiot director what could be really be. _________________

| If I am right, that could be an indication of a change in the seventh (eighth?) movie's plot. Maybe Harry sees a memory related to his father's cloak that helps tie up some loose ends. |

If that's a fact, the seventh movie will be screwed up. But, with Yates directing, I'm not surprised.
*shrugs* Books are better than movies anyway. _________________

It would make sense...but yet I don't know why cloak memories would really be necessary. I mean Harry already knows it was his dad's.
but good eye for detail _________________

| He knows it is his father's, but the memory could reveal to Harry that the cloak is a Hallow. It might be the memory of DD asking James for the cloak to conduct tests upon, right before James and Lily were killed (that was what happened in the book). |

"You have guessed, I know, why the Cloak was in my
possession on the night your parents died. James had showed
it to me just a few days previously. It explained much of his
undetected wrongdoing at school! I could hardly believe what
I was seeing. I asked to borrow it, to examine it."
-Albus Dumbledore; Chapter 35 of the Deathly Hallows, Kings Cross.
Instead of Dumbledore and Harry talking for twenty minutes of the movie and DD giving Harry a long-winded explanation of taking the cloak and other things, they might have Harry see the memory firsthand, which would dramatically reduce the movie's run time and the 'weird factor' which turns viewers off of the movie. |

but yet they have two movies to do deathly hallows in...one to do hbp. why would they add something like that in? of course they add things all the time at the expense of real stuff but it would be such a random thing for him to show Harry in hbp...it has nothing to do with anything else. and it takes less than a minute for dd to tell him that, so there's no reason to transplant it. _________________

No, I was thinking he would look at that memory at the end of The Deathly Hallows. Right before he goes into the forest, he could find out from DD's memories that he has that Hallow (and by he I mean movie viewers with a distaste for long monologues done by dead people in Harry's head, namely DD). |

idk, i guess it's just for directors to see if book-readers are paying attention

From me - He might be right
Good eye, I have 2 guesses:
1. They only added it to get the ones who know what it means to look and can't wait for the DH to come out to explain why they added that detail.
2. It can be a slight change in the plot in future. _________________ Post Count = Number of Posts + 1 |

I see...but when would he have time to look at dumbledore's memories? I think him taking time out of the action at Hogwarts to do that would be a silly idea. "hey I know I have all this stuff to do but I'll just nip up to dd's office and look in his memories."
I think I'd be more convinced if there were also vials marked with circles and a straight line. or perhaps it is the memory....that he had stored just because and we'll never see it...it was just an interesting little detail they decided to add. _________________

If you remember correctly, that's exactly what he did! (with Snape's memories)
No reason he couldn't see and view that vial while he's at it... They've screwed up worse than that with the HP movies before now! |

yeah but those memories were given to him...of course he was going to check them out. but he had no time to go dallying in other memories. besides he would have done snape's first and then after that he wanted to go die straight away. lol that sounds weird. _________________

Yeah, but it wouldn't have to go exactly like that. The movie producers often switch things around a bit to make it come together better. They might make it so Snape's memories are already in the office, and he goes there looking for answers (or something, maybe the ring?) and he ends up looking at DD's memories (maybe he sees the triangle) and Snape's at the same time.
Or it could be just for looks. Listen, I just thought I would get you guys to throw out some theories for fun, not analyze mine (ergo the 'what do you guys think?' question). |

Yeah, or maybe it's just a random shape in the memories? I see there's also a star, so why not a random triangle? _________________ Post Count = Number of Posts + 1 |

No, its just a coincedence.
The only memories about the cloak that Dumbledore know, Harry already knows methinks... _________________

Dumbledore has knowledge beyond any other known wizard (besides Merlin). Whatever Harry knows, Dumbledore already knew. _________________
