LOL come on...you can't see that it's his sense of humor coming out there? This is a device to build up Dumbledore's character as an easy-going guy despite his brilliance and his past. Do you think the "sherbet lemon" in the first chapter that so annoyed Mcgonagall had any significance to the plot? No, it served the same purpose as "nitwit blubber oddment tweak:" introduction of character
it didnt have significance to the plot, but it had to dumbledore, how he is easy going and can be fun, and then after all that lightness we're shown the reality of him, i think it was smart of jo to do that _________________

In response to the first post, this is similar to JKR's prequel (that she's not working on by the way) when the police ask James and Sirius for names and they start listing names.

Dumbledore is a genius hands down yarite, but he was a bit nuts too. I can't say I didn't go like "O_O" when I read the words but I gotta admit that it was just humor and it stroke me well for one! _________________ CONSTANT VIGILANCE, SCUMBAGS!
